Jim,while that was certainly true in the past,it's no longer true. These people ARE in the Dim Party, but they are sideshow freaks, even there. The biggest danger we face now (other than ignorance, that is)is fascism. Even the Chinese have evolved into fascists how. Let's not focus too much on a historical enemy that is now relatively harmless, while not paying any attention to our new enemy.
Politics is the art of the possible. You should keep your ideals and work for them, but understand that sometimes you have to settle for second best. So, it depends on the RINO. On occasion, it might be best to vote for a conservative, pro-life Democrat rather than a liberal Republican. But these days, that is getting less and less likely to happen.
Also, you have to consider. Is it worth venting your pique at admittedly bad RINOs like Olympia Snowe, let's say, when the alternative might be to give the Dems a majority in the Senate?
Most of us would have held our breaths and voted for Giuliani if he had stayed in the race against Hillary. He is an extreme pro-abort, which is not something we need more of in the Senate; but the alternative would have been clearly worse.
So, keep your ideals but be sensible. 60% of the pie is better than nothing. And maybe tomorrow you can get a little more pie.
If wishes were horses, beggers would ride.
After November, it's time to start working the RINOs over.
... a power Congress and the president together could take away at any moment, if they so desired.
"When I began entering into the give and take of legislative bargaining in Sacramento, a lot of the most radical conservatives who had supported me during the election didn't like it. "Compromise" was a dirty word to them and they wouldn't face the fact that we couldn't get all of what we wanted today. They wanted all or nothing and they wanted it all at once. If you don't get it all, some said, don't take anything. "I'd learned while negotiating union contracts that you seldom got everything you asked for. And I agreed with FDR, who said in 1933: 'I have no expectations of making a hit every time I come to bat. What I seek is the highest possible batting average.'"If you got seventy-five or eighty percent of what you were asking for, I say, you take it and fight for the rest later, and that's what I told these radical conservatives who never got used to it.

Good thing they didn't have Humvees back then.

Been reading Atlas Shrugged again, I see!
This is all fine and dandy,as is the advise to elect conservatives. However, how is either related to voting for statists airheads like Giddy Dolt? She had been endorsed by both the RNC and the White House, and if Giddy is a consrvative,I'm the next Pope. I will NOT vote for her, regardless of who her opponet is. If this means the Reps don't regain control of the Senate,so be it. It's not MY fault,it's theirs. They COULD have backed either of the conservative men who wanted that seat, but chose to back Giddy, instead. They did this for the same reason these losers backed Bob Dolt. He and she are insiders who can be trusted to not upset anybody's apple cart.
Major bold bump.
