A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001
So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!
And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

Making Liberty her Mission at FRee Republic
Libertina
By dansangel
Libertina is a very energetic FReeper who just (lucky for us) happened upon Free Republic. She signed up on 11-18-2000 and the rest, as they say, is history. Perusing her profile page, one finds several links to threads she has posted describing activism and subjects of passionate interest. Her latest rant is a thread she posted on Aug. 28 that can be found here:
"A Simple Word Like Violence"
Libertina has a wonderfully animated style of writing that she used in submitting information about herself to A Few Of FRs Finest. There is no way that I could improve upon what she wrote. So, it is with great pride, I present "Libertina in Her Own Words."
Washington
Puget Sound Chapter Leader Libertina
For 10 years I lived in Asia. I was working for a foreign embassy (de facto) when their government back home fell in a bloodless coup - very intense. I was in Asia when China staged live military games and Clinton sent in US carriers to protect us - (he lied). I was still there while he sold sensitive missile technology, pilfered Republicans FBI files and defiled the White House. Overseas news was CNN. (In other words, I heard nothing)
Returning home a few months before the election I was shocked to find that Republican was a dirty word, Boy Scouts were a hate group, and NAMBLA was operating in full public view. It was an outrage.
FR was found by Providence when I surfed message boards and someone mentioned Free Republic. By that evening I had found my cyber home. A week later I registered and posted my first reply. (Heady days! LOL) Surrounded by brilliant, constitution-reading, politically astute Freepers - it was education time.
A couple of weeks later I boldly posted a rally thread (LOL). Luckily, some people showed up: Big Ern, Vicki and other PS (Puget Sound) Chapter FReepers. (Puget Sound ***rocks!***) In December, I gathered with hundreds of patriots on the Court House steps in Seattle - and found myself on stage speaking.
****************************************
Puget Sound Chapter FReeping the CReep in 2002 when Clinton came to Seattle. We DID make the news. hehehe
Now, more than a year later, the Puget Sound Chapter continues activities including a Shoot, potlucks with Billthedrills homebrew, FReep of the Creep in Seattle, Freep of the MMMs, and our National Gun Purchase Day on July 9th. NGPD is Big Erns brainchild to respond to the UNs Gun Destruction Day. After contacting shops and clubs, the event went national as stores advertised specials during the week and 2nd Amendment lovers took advantage of discounts to buy more guns! (And, we could relay the statistics to the UN - hehehe.)
Of course, there was that challenging COSCO Freep (we were going to be on the Hannity & Colmes Show) where President Bush SAVED us
LOL. The night before our rally, GW secured the release of our service personnel from China. Most Americans stayed home to watch this play out on FOX NEWS, but I stubbornly trudged down to our site with a friend to protest. When the port guard discovered I was on the property, he unceremoniously threw my little Freeper behind right off the premises! Could have been ugly! Thanks GW!
The Puget Sound FR Chapter has been fortunate to have the supportive assistance of KVI radio host Kirby Wilbur announcing our community FReeps. Patriotic BUMP!
Upcoming: In September, my article A Simple Word Like Violence is being published in the WAC Gun News. It is an article about the increased linking of the word violence with 2nd Amendment and how our kids are indoctrinated. (To preview, use the above link). And, I still run pistolwhipvideo.com.
I was honored to work a little on the FRiva Convention with Diotima, Bob J, and other awesome FReepers. IMHO, FR (& friends) is an impressive force against liberalism: gathering conservatives, launching activism projects, creating educational conferences
Thanks Free Republic for providing such amazing refuge for patriots everywhere. ~~Libertina

And, thank-you Libertina, for being such an enthusiastic and active member of Free Republic! ~dansangel~

Wow! Does that group stretch all the way around that block? Man, I wish we could get that many out to counter the peaceniks. That would put the fear of God in them.

The Cumberland Dam at Wolfe Creek
Tuesday morning my bil and a friend went down to the Cumberland River for some fishing and sightseeing - the early morning fog was spectacular as we drifted down the river seeing deer, raccoon, a blue heron, and some butt-ugly turkey vultures perched in the limbs of a dead tree.
The water was so clear we could see the fish swimming around our lures to approximately 10 feet deep. This was the first time I've been on the river and I truly hope that it will not be the last. If anyone has the chance to visit Lake Cumberland - grab it. You will not be disappointed.
Thank you. I love finding good stuff on algore's internet. ;-)

I love the outdoors. Sounds like a dream morning in my book. Hope you were eating fresh fried fish at noon :)
