Last Supper, are you talking about the movie with the grad students who are killing off conservatives? If so, at least it had a happy ending.
All the liberals drank the poison wine.

"Grapes of Wrath" - the movie sucked. The book is a classic. (an no, I don't mean to start a GREATBOOK/SUCKY MOVIE subthread - though any clancy book would qualify)

The very coolest movie ever was Red Dawn. I love that movie! Have it on video and noticed the FMCDH reference! I think the director(fogot his name...John Millis or something like that) is on the NRA board of directors.

For extra credit, you might explain to us why German Americans and Italian Americans were not also rounded up and interred. Actually, a good number of German Americans were rounded up and interred. Not in the same number or percentage as the Japanese, but there were several thousand German Americans interred in camps in Texas.

I want to see Unintended Consequences(with John Ross directing) made into a movie.

Simple. "Bob Roberts" starring Tim Robbins and Gore Vidal, who has to be the biggest prat in America today.
My mother, in her naivete, rented it because she thought that the conservative folk songs would appeal to me.

Think I saw 10 minutes of the one where he inherits a kid and teaches him all these bad things. You should have watched the rest. The kid starts to go bad with all the permissive stuff and Sandler has to untrain him and reign him back in so he doesn't become a total misfit. The kid makes Sandler grow up in the end.

Source?? There were plenty of German POWs in camps in the US, but I know of NO general round-up of American citizens of german ancestry (for one thing, there were c. 10 million of them!!). Sounds like Urban Legend to me [Or possibly a few actual Bundists], but I would be interested in any source you might have. I saw a documentary on German American internment during WWII on either PBS or the History Channel within the last 9 months.

I just ran a simple search of "German American Internment" on Lycos and it came back with 10 responses including:

Two observations:
>The film was a rarity in that it was actually better than the book upon which it was based.
> I thought the statement about faith it made at the end was a disarming concession from Hollyweird.

My best friend & I took her little brother to this movie. We actually hashed out scenarios if the commies came across the border. We decided that between the local retired and active duty folks and the very active gangs, not to mention the pissed off locals, the commies were SOL. The joy of living next to Mexico! :-) I think any non lib had that reaction.

Thanks. That's it.

Pleasantville. It is to be shown on A&E this month. Everything about the Post WWII America is trashed in this film. The "Whites" are all slobs. These are the people that just won WWII. I can't wait for Ted Turner to "colorize" Pleasantville! :-)

"Arlington Road" was horribly leftist, though it's made a comeback as a portrait of a terrorist. It shouldn't have, as it was phony from beginning to end -- or from beginning to where I shut it off.
You could say the same thing for most of Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon's other films. Robbins epic of the 1930s was horribly left-wing, and a lie, also a glorification of the trashiest agit-prop of the era.
"Billy Jack" has gotten votes as the best conservative picture. Judging from what little I saw, it shouldn't have. Smiling gentle furry hippie people menaced by thugs. I suppose law and order and vigilantism are conservative themes, but the hippie angle twists it the other way.
"Zabriskie Point" is another leftist film. Completely trashy in its politics and boring as well, but fascinating as a document of 60s/70s culture.
Costner's Dances with Wolves and some of the other Indian-themed movies, including "Soldier Blue" from the 70s.

There was a movie that was released in the last year or so that sported a pro-UN theme. I think it had Wesley Snipes in it, but I could be wrong. And of course, I don't remember the name of it, but I do remember many here at FR saying that it should be avoided like the plague. I can't imagine a movie being much more PC than that.

Any recent movie with Seven Segal.
