"Tommy Boy" with Chris Farley.

Is that the one with the deer scene? My husband forced me to sit down and watch it and I ended up laughing so hard I cried.

Great thing about Jim Varney is that he never got so full of himself that he felt the need to try his hand at drama. That was the end of Jim Carrey. Hey Jim, check your ego at the door and make another Ace Ventura! Even another "Cable Guy" would be better than the sappy schlock youre into nowadays.

Um. I seem to recall that German-Americans were in fact rounded up

I went to school with a girl by the name of Sauer and she told me (this is back in the 70's) that her Grandpa Sauer had been taken in and questioned several times during WWII. Wasn't sent off to a camp, but he was questioned.

Chicken Run

Oh, no! Just bought that one for my 3 year old, sight unseen, because I had heard it was a cute movie.

I thought it was well done, and not PC. The evil character wants to kill the chickens, but I don't think that qualifies as being PC in some PETA way. I do think its too intense for a three year old, though. You may want to watch it first to judge for yourself.

Pleasantville. It is to be shown on A&E this month. Everything about the Post WWII America is trashed in this film. The "Whites" are all slobs. These are the people that just won WWII.

No - Gattaca was ANTI-PC!!!

Wrong! It was very PC plus it was a HORRIBLE flick. Read my REVIEW of Gattaca.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Waterworld

"You're never too young to start [smoking]."

I don't blame you for being surprised.

And the winner is.... Spielberg in a tie:
Amistad and Schindler's List.

Heck no. Both those movies were about fighting for the principle of human dignity. And Amistad did present the message that the way to fight slavery (and terrorism) was to send a warship to blow the slavers off the face of the earth.

But Spielberg aready has the lifetime PC award for Close Encounters of the Third Kind: the only character I liked in it was was the (supposedly) unsympathic wife of Roy, for her Female of the Species: to serve that single issue, lest the generations fail, kicking of his butt.

Chicken Run is excellent! Watch without fear! (I love Nick Park's animation anyway, so am biased - not to mention Mel Gibson is great in the film).

I, personally, did a double-take on Chicken Run because it is a very funny movie. If there is a PC message to it, I don't know what it is. Your 3 year old will not be indoctrinated by this film. It is really cute.

I haven't seen "Last Supper" in a long time either, but I somehow remember the ending and saying "oooohhh, so THAT'S what the point of the movie is." I'm not saying it's a conservative movie, but I think all the libs die at the end. The conservative talk show host outsmarts them or something.

"Saturday Night Fever" had one of the most insidious PC messages I have ever seen in a movie. Tony, the conservative Brooklyn kid sees the errors of his ways and those of his conservative Catholic friends and, by the end of the movie, becomes a "better man," ie. a Manhatten liberal.

My list (no order):

1. Erin Brockovich. 2X money back not enough!

2. Dances With Wolves. That's really how the Indians were.

3. American President. Rob Reiner's preachy ode to Clinton. Richard Dreyfuss must have had a ball playing the buffoonish and creepy Republican.

4. The China Syndrome. A pox on Hanoi Jane.

5. The Piano. The worst movie I have ever seen. Period. And I saw Howard the Duck.

6. Malcolm X.

7. The Contender, featuring Unpleasantville's Joan Allen. Best review: "nothing more than a sub-par Lifetime cable network movie..."

8. Thirteen Days. Kevin Costner strikes again.

9. John Q. I usually like Denzel Washington, but this was enough to cancel out Training Day.

10. Reserved for next Rob Reiner offering.

The Bad News Bears. Ugh! Ever since Tater Oatmeal starred as that girl pitcher, ever commercial and/or movie has to feature a girl baseball player. It has become a tiresome cliche. And they always have to have their hair pulled up into the cap so they can let it down at the end so everyone will exclaim "Oh, it's a girl baseball player!". Please!!!

There was a recent miniseries that was on that was very PC, called The Mists of Avalon. I was going to watch it until I read about the feminist twaddle that it turned out to be.

How about 'The American President'? Can anybody at all tolerate it? For some gosh-unkown reason my wife likes that movie. I leave the house whenever it's on.

Yep, this was going to be my pick. The evil opponent is endorsed by the "Conservative Coalition". Political agenda aside though, I am with your wife, it's a cute chick flick.
