I'll make this short and sweet. I have not seen evidence for a reason to invade Iraq or demand a regime change there.
Okay, Saddam gassed his own people twelve years ago or so. There have been multiple accusations of his development of weapons of mass destruction, including biological and chemical weapons development.
All the TV footage I see of Saddam Hussein is about 10 years old. Show me the evidence.

The most outlandish thing done lately was the payments and promises of more payments to the suicide bombers in the West Bank and Gaza.
It would seem that he is also helping in anyway he can to de-stabalize the ME and thereby hurt Israel and the US.
If we wait until he has nukes he will be in a position to use nuclear blackmail. IE: "If you damage any more radar sites I will launch at Israel in retaliation."
If you use your imagination you can see the potential reign of terror that this SOB can and will initiate.
I believe a ounce of prevention is in order.

Thursday's Washington Post has an article detailing the discovery,in 1998,by the Brits, of a new breed of Iraqi drone aircraft- experts now believe the drones were modified to spread WMD. 1998 was a big year for Saddam-no matter what he did-no one challenged him!! No matter how anyone spins it-Clinton and the UN are responsible for Saddam and Osama metasticizing.

Your comments are excellent. Thanks for them. I wish I'd made an equally eloquent intro for this thread. But, at least you know what I'm getting at.

GWB actually has integrity and loves his country.
That's what they said about Clinton. Don't drop the soap, Ben. You got evidence of that??

Great post. Let's see it again:
And if doesn't happen soon, but let's say happens in 2-3 years? Anyway. I'll draw you a parallel. After WW1, Germany wasn't supposed to stockpile weapons. But it did. It wasn't a secret that Hitler was building up his war machine all through 1930's. But euros are appeasers and didn't want to bother with war, so they closed their eyes and gave Czheckoslovakia to him. We got WW2 in return, tens of millions died just because we failed to enforce what was agreed on after WW1 - for germany not to build up its arsenal.

Fred,
In all honesty, I would fully support an invasion upon Iraq and an ousting of Sadaam Hussein.
You ask: Where is the evidence?
Quite frankly, President Bush will have to make more of a case and present some solid evidence showing the Administrations claims to the American public soon. Although President Bush will need to be careful about what he releases to the public, as we need to be careful not to compromise any ground intelligence that we do have in Iraq.
I suspect that the Bush Administration will have closed, classified briefing sessions with Congress soon, but given the state of national security leaks that Congress seems to be perfecting these days, who knows who much the Bush Administration will be actually able to reveal to them.
We do know that Sadaam Hussein has used chemical weapons against his own people, killing over 100,000 Iraqi Kurds. He has denied UN weapons inspectors for the past 4 years now. Iraq signed this agreement in 1996 and has not been following their own agreement since 1998. Iraq signed this pact as stipulation for resuming oil exports after the Persian Gulf War.
There is also significant evidence out there showing that Husseins intelligence serviced paved the way for Mohammed Atta to board American Airlines Flight 11. Also, Sadaam Hussein has declared to the entire world that he will monetarily compensate the families of suicide bombers and has encouraged terrorist acts upon the United States before and since the Persian Gulf War.
The Bush Administration is probably hoping that Sadaam does not suddenly announce that he will allow UN Weapons Inspectors back into Iraq, simply because it would greatly weaken our case against Hussein. Right now, it seems that the ball is in Husseins field. It is said that when Clinton bombed Iraq in 1999, (Operation Desert Fox) some of the intelligence used in bombing these facilities came from former UN Weapons Inspectors.
Hussein is paving his own path to destruction. By using chemical weapons against his own people, he has helped the rise of a strong Iraqi opposition. Hussein is a scared man, as is evidence with his killing of anyone who opposes him, the fact that he moves around mainly in the cover of darkness, and is evidently taking special care of his physical appearance, so that he does not look old or appear to be the sick man of the Middle East. Hussein is a crack-pot dictator, whose power is weakening everyday.
The way I see it, there is already enough evidence out there showing that Sadaam Hussein needs to be ousted from power. Either we take him out before he has nuclear capabilities or we take him out when he does. I would rather take him out before he has these capabilities.

Anyone who is an adherent to the new religion of moral relativism could say this...so what?
