I'll make this short and sweet. I have not seen evidence for a reason to invade Iraq or demand a regime change there.
Okay, Saddam gassed his own people twelve years ago or so. There have been multiple accusations of his development of weapons of mass destruction, including biological and chemical weapons development.
All the TV footage I see of Saddam Hussein is about 10 years old. Show me the evidence.

"Sure I hear sabre rattling...and the media has been wanting to go to war with Iraq since 10am on 9/11/2001,.."
Say what? The media has been wanting to go to war with Iraq?

Until this adminstration goes after the criminals the used chemical weapons at Waco, their argument against Iraq (with respect to chemical weapons) holds no credibility. Start another thread, pal. Your attempt at moral equivalence falls flat.

We are the only country who has used nuclear weapons against another country. Go on. What's your point?
To: DaughterOfAnIwoJimaVet
Get off this thread if you don't like it.
If you're here, answer the question, where's the evidence?
To: Long Cut
Breathing comes to mind. My first thought, too. How about taking up space? Could not all that flesh fill a hole in the Universe somewhere?
To: Chewy
Fred, You asked an honest question and all you've gotten in response is mights, what ifs and other mainstream media propaganda. Two weeks ago the CIA was testifying before Congress that there was no evidence Iraq had exported terrorism outside of it's borders or that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. First of all, I don't believe for a second that the CIA said what you are saying they said and I would appreciate it if you would source your comment. Second, Hussein tried to assassinate President Bush on Kuwaiti soil. I don't know what you call that, but I call it international terrorism. Third, Iraq has been on the State Department list of terror sponsoring nations for 20 years. Fourth, not only does Iraq have weapons of mass destruction, but they have used them - both against the Iranians and against their own population. Finally, if you are going to argue for leaving Hussein the Pyschotic alone, at least try to use factually correct arguments that support your position.

If you're here, answer the question, where's the evidence? What is your reaction to the "evidence" already posted?
To: JCG
So stuff the evidence I can't believe you wrote that.

"We are the only country who has used nuclear weapons against another country."
Is that a problem?
To: Fred Mertz
Something is going to happen soon and I'd like to know why. Is that too much too ask? Watch Bush's speech to the UN on Sept 12. He plans to lay it all out there.
BTW, Saddam tried to assasinate Bush 41 during the nineties. Attempting to kill a head of state would seem to be worthy of something more than a cruise missle launch which is what Clinton did.

Still reading the thread .. but here is a good response

Something is going to happen soon
And if doesn't happen soon, but let's say happens in 2-3 years? Anyway. I'll draw you a parallel. After WW1, Germany wasn't supposed to stockpile weapons. But it did. It wasn't a secret that Hitler was building up his war machine all through 1930's. But euros are appeasers and didn't want to bother with war, so they closed their eyes and gave Czheckoslovakia to him. We got WW2 in return, tens of millions died just because we failed to enforce what was agreed on after WW1 - for germany not to build up its arsenal.

Start another thread, pal. Your attempt at moral equivalence falls flat. I hate it when people try to pull that crap. It's simply retarded.
To: Fred Mertz
I think that it's obvious that the president will be using intelligence reports to justify the war, just as he previously stated.
He will not tell us what those reports say, as they are classified.
The bottom line is that we are dealing with terrorism at an all-time high level.
It seems obvious that the Iraqis are financially supporting Al Quaida.
As we know, the democrats are leaning toward supporting the Palestinians insteadof the Israelis. If they support the war, I think we can know that they know things that are very serious.
I agree with your freedom to be a sceptic, but ask you to first consider the honor of the current President of the United States. Then consider the idea that you are not (and should not be) privy to the intelligence data.
Is that fair?
To: Mo1; Fred Mertz
Thanks, I am still waiting for Fred to address that.
To: Chewy
Is the CIA testimony on that site?
To: ChadGore
Thank you! Now, if I could've just spotted the typos in my rush to post it... :^/
