It seems like an attack on Iraq is coming soon.

Place your bet as to when the attack will begin.

Whoever gets closest to the date and time wins.

Attack time must be specified in Month, Day, Year, Hour, and Minute

For the hour, don't forget to specify what time zone you are referring to.

There is no decision on a prize to be awarded yet except for bragging rights.

I plan to win the bet.

Bombing campaign (outside of no-fly zones): January 15 at 11PM Iraq time.

Rationale?: This will be the actual start of war, prior to ground troops. This does NOT include "routine" fly over and air-to-ground missles fired as part of on-going enforcement of no-fly zone restrictions of the last decade.

USA owns the night; Time to percolate the Iraqi non-compliance with inspections; Troops into Iraq later.

This will be a "moonless" night. The next new moon won't occur until March 2nd, and that's a little too close to the hot Iraqi spring season, IMO. U.S. strategists will want to allow at least 1-2 weeks to achieve air supremacy and decimate organized resistance before sending in the main bodies of troops. However, SOCOM and airborne troops will undoubtedly infiltrate shortly after bombing starts to neutralize WMD-related targets.

This may also correspond to a yet-to-be-announced January 31st "deadline" for some sort of compliance by Iraq.

All speculation, of course...
