A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 8/27/02

President Bush met with Saudi Arabian Ambassador Prince Bandar bin Sultan at the Bush Ranch in Crawford, Texas today to discuss the Mideast, including Iraq. Bin Sultan still asserted the official Saudi opposition to any action against Iraq. Bush also pushed the Ambassador to do more for children- American citizens- who are being held in Saudi Arabia because their father's are living there. Bush specifically raised the case of Amjad Radwam, a 19-year-old U.S. citizen who was not allowed to leave Saudi Arabia with her mother, Monica Stowers, in 1985. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

"I chose that quote from Dick Cheney because I think it directly implicates the
previous administration's willful disregard for the safety of Americans.
Cheney's entire speech is brilliant."
Absolutely! Heard it on the radio. He made me so proud.

For those who are troubled about the relationship with the Saudis, I am going to post a link to an excellent essay that explains things quite coherently. Please take the time to read it. It is not full of four-dollar words, but explains in a logical way what is going on. I would have posted it except that it has a couple of F-words in it (WARNING) and I felt it would be against posting rules.
Mr. Mulliner on the "America the Right Way" thread (General Interest forum) found it, and it is quite helpful.
Please do read it if you have time:

Since it's your birthday, you can join McLynnan and me on OUR houseboat for a glass of champagne which I KNOW McLynnan will be happy to furnish.

Not trying to distract the thread, but I've been thinking about you and the law exam. Any news?

" President George W. Bush meets with Saudi Arabian Ambassador Prince Bandar bin Sultan at the Bush Ranch in Crawford, Texas, Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002, White House photo by Eric Draper" While it is only one photo, Rintense, it's an interesting study in body language. The Prince sits higher than the President, by sitting on the arm of the chair, however, it's obvious who is making the conversational point. I don't think I've ever seen a Saudi prince in jeans before.....
GREAT PICTURE!

Based on what I have read, not undeserved. Want to start a flame war, huh? It would be my first. LOL.

I was thinking the same thing about the body language. While the higher position suggests a need to control the conversation, it's obvious from the body language and gestures from Bush that he is in control.
