Sheila (Davis) aka: "country dummy" a Sister of the River, was transferred to Charleston Area Medical Center via ambulance yesterday morning and placed on a blood thinner (heparin) and nitroglycerin drip. They're calling her condition a pre-cardiac event and the EKG showed she may have some coronary artery blockage. She's to have a heart catheterization Monday morning and was in good spirits when I talked to her today. Please, keep her in your hearts and prayers! Thanks! Ann

Country Dummy!! You take care of yourself....we all know what this battle has taken out of you....WE NEED YOU. Good thoughts and prayers going your way.
Praise be to God! Lord, I lift up Sheila to you now, and ask that in the name of Jesus, you touch her circulatory system and restore it! Praise the Lord! In Jesus name, Lord, I declare the spirit of death bound and cast under her feet, and loose life, health, strength and restoration to Your honor and glory, Praise be to God! Standing on Your Word, Lord that "whatever is bound on earth in JEsus name is bound in heaven and whatever is loosed on earth in Jesus name is loosed in heaven". HALLELUJAH! Lord, I thank and praise Your Holy Name for bringing health back to Sheila. Thank you Jesus, that "by your stripes she is healed" that "Your wounds heal all disease" and "none can take her from Your hands"! In the Mighty name of Jesus, Lord, I ask You to touch her at this moment and restore her completely! Grant her a very speedy recovery, and may Your name be glorified through it all! Praise the Lord! Thank you Jesus! "Now thanks be unto God, which ALWAYS causeth us to triumph in Christ!" In Jesus mighty name, AMEN!
Some of you may already know what I am talking about but let me say it anyway. If you have a burning sensation in the center of the chest that increases to a squeezing burning sensation, then your lower jaw feels like you have a double whammy toothache all the way across your lower jaw, and Then, you feel like something between your shoulder blades in your back is going to snap if the pain does not stop, YOU are experiencing some sort of a cardiac event!!! Period! It is not your gallbladder nor a hiatal hernia! Well let me put it this way, it could be, but only the doctor can tell for sure, and believe me these are the symptoms I had and they had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with my gallbladder or a hiatal hernia, it was my heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You dont have to have all of the symptoms I just mentioned, the burning squeezing in the chest is in itself enough especially if it lasts for more than 2 minutes! I have also been told that women also have stomach pain, and I am guessing it is probably epigastric in nature, (the upper middle portion of the stomach). I am pretty sure I was doing that as well, but was shrugging it off as heartburn!
I am not a physician, I am a nurse, and I should have known better, but denial is a very potent and very bad coping mechanism! I had used it since around March of this year until Friday morning, August 23rd! It was almost too late for me then! So please, please, please if you have any of those symptoms, dont be the dummy I was and let it get to the point I did! Oh well, sometimes I can be a real CountryDummy!!!!!!!!
Now for the Good News (please allow for this as you will see why). Some of my lab studies did show that I had suffered a cardiac event and my EKGs were abnormal. I was told that I had had an Acute Cardiac Event----a new term for pre-infarction angina. I was started on IV blood thinners, nitroglycerin, Lopressor and other medications.
My cardiologist was most concerned and told me and my family that it was a much more serious event than we thought. He of course had to do a cardiac cath to determine the amount of blockage I had. He would not allow me to have a stress test because he was afraid it would induce a severe MI. He told us that he would try an angioplasty, but he really felt like I would have to have open heart bypass surgery.
Well, when I got the cath done on Monday, it showed ABSOLUTELY NO blockages at all!!!!!!! Praise the Lord! Why? With all my heart (hehe) I know it was because of all of your prayers! I am 42 years old, and even at that tender age :-) there should have been some % of blockage! My Doc was astounded, dumbfounded, beside himself! I loved it! He really could not believe it! He has decided that from the time I had the initial pain and all the meds I was given to the time he was able to perform the cardiac cath, that a clot must have dissolved......possible to some degree, but still at age 42 with the life style I live, the cigarettes I smoke and the bacon grease I love, there should have been Some blockage! Some Docs have a real hard time believing in miracles!
I do have some damage, my T waves on my EKGs are still inverted which is not good, but I do feel like I am 10 years younger in that I am breathing easier, not coughing hardly at all now, no indigestion or heartburn hardly at all and I used to have heartburn several times a day!!!!! I never could take ASA without ending up feeling like someone was stabbing me in the middle of my stomach! And of course I am having to take ASA everyday now!
With all that said, I wanted to be a witness that there is so much power in prayer, and that God is alive and listens when two or more shall gather and agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amen! Amen! To each and everyone of you and to those that you asked to pray for me and mine that I have no idea who they are and may never, please send them this message from me! I pray that as your prayers lifted me to the Lord and saved me and bound possible death, that all of you realize the power of prayer, that you see a walking----ah---emailing (hehehe) true blue miracle! Plus, for those women that may be having , had, or may have the symptoms I did, DONT put it off as nerves, digestive problems or anything else you can come up with as I did! Chest pain is serious business!
I love and respect you all and I thank you all again for the prayers!
Sincerely with all love there is I could ever pass on,
Countrydummy, aka Sheila Davis Sisters of the River
I love you Dixie! and AuntB and all of you!
Sheila
