I was just reading an old political book and found this quote from JFK which he was to deliver in a speech at the Trademart in Dallas on Nov22, 1963. Of course, he was killed before he could, but it is something the peaceniks might need to read;

There will always be dissident voices heard in the land expressing opposition without alternatives, finding fault but never favor, perceiving gloom on every side and seeking influence without responsibility. But today other voices are heard in the land--voices preaching doctrines wholly unrelated to reality,--- doctrines which apparently assume that words will suffice without weapons, that vituperation is as good as victory and that peace is a sign of weakness.-------that this nation is headed for defeat through deficit, or that strength is but a matter of slogans, is nothing but just plain nonsense."

The party democrat has certainly changed since his day, but his words seem to fit nicely here all of these years later.

We are so proud of the job you are doing every week in honoring our troops and standing up for what is right in this great United States of America. And having one of our soldiers stop and thank you must give you a great sense of pride in the job you are doing. Thank you very much.
