A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues;  salute
and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new
word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who
are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which
we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.  I
can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands
of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

Like the rest of you, I'm "Getting to Know You", more of you, better every day. Today we shine the on firebrand, a native of East Orange, N.J., who has lived in Manhattan since her college years. She first became political in 1992 because of neighborhood events, and in '94, switched from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party. Firebrand is presently a local GOP leader and is also active in GOP clubs around town.

Firebrand has a high profile job as an editor of conservative material and prefers not to have her photograph published. Since she joined FR in February of 2000, she has become more than just a passive FReeper, and her list of accomplishments and activities include the following:

• Chapter Executive of the Tri-State Chapter
• (Prior to becoming the Chapter Executive, she was the New York City Group Leader);
• Editor of the Clinton Legacy Cookbook;
• Organizer of the Bush rallies in Times Square and practically every other rally and protest FR has held in New York City.

A few words about firebrand shared with me by another FReeper:

"She organized the Freeps in Times Square to call on Al Gore and LIEberman to give it up in late November 2000 and December 2000.  She was at the UN Freep, I think, the Mexican Embassy, the one where the globalists marched, we sang patriotic songs and the Cops loved us, extended our permits for unlimited time! Rudy in Newburgh, too, she was there when Rudy shook all our hands and posed for pictures with us, Kathryn Prudhomme in front of Hillary's campaign headquarters in NYC...." ~~ Race Bannon

Many well-deserved KUDOS to firebrand! I really admire her tenacious courage in representing the GOP and promoting GOP/Conservative candidates in NYC. The NYC and Tri-State area is probably one of the toughest, if not the toughest, areas in the country in which to penetrate the stranglehold the 'RATs have on local, state and national politics. Taking part in a FReep or expressing support for the GOP in this part of the country is to do so truly within enemy territory.

Firebrand: I know organizing the many rallies in NYC proved to be pretty frustrating at times. Without your savvy NYC know-how and guidance, though, I know these rallies probably never would've taken place. Besides the many rallies you organized and took part in that RaceBannon mentioned above, I'd like to add that it took tremendous courage to do your two "one-woman FReeps" in NYC: Rockefeller Center (at Christmastime, I believe it was) and the other one at Fox News Channel, a rally in which no other FReepers showed up.
