Embattled media mogul Martha Stewart is said to see a political conspiracy behind the deepening investigation into her questionable stock trades, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

"Martha really believes it is the Republicans who are behind this -- and they are chasing her for purely political reasons," a Stewart intimate said this weekend.

"Martha told me that she believes they are doing the very same thing to her, they did to President Clinton. What Ken Starr did. She believes it is nothing short of a witch hunt! They are even digging into her private e-mails! They are demanding to know who she's dated. Martha said to me, 'Can you believe they want to know who I'm dating?' Republicans on Capitol Hill are probing her sex life!"

The close Stewart friend, who demanded not to be named out of fear of being dragged into the investigation, spoke just hours after Justice Department officials sacked her stockbroker's offices - removing boxes of evidence related to the ImClone stock scandal.

"Who runs the Justice Department? Republicans. Who runs the House of Representatives, and these committees looking into Martha? The Republicans," said the Stewart friend. "Guess who is a major force in raising money and contributing to Democrats?"

The close Stewart friend predicted Americans will rally behind Stewart the same way many did with President Clinton during his impeachment.

"Once all the facts come out about this abuse of power, about these subpoenas, which ask for every detail on Martha's very private life, people will come to her side."

A spokesman for the House Energy and Commerce Committee strongly denied congressional investigators are being motivated out of any political concern and noted questions about a subject's personal contacts with other individuals are standard.

She owned quite a lot ; I don't recall the exact amount. You want be to see if I can find the exact number ? I do ; however , know, that she got $ 227,000 from her sale of those stocks, which she sold on December 27th ... the same day, that Waksal's daughter sold the 5 million dollar's worth, that Sam had just signed off to her, because he couldn't sell any more shares. This was, I believe, PRIOR to the announcement to the public !

Here's my reply with the facts:

I found the exact amount. She owned 3,928 shares. The stock went down $8.79 on the day of the announcement. You're counting the entire value of the shares. I'm counting what she saved with the insider information, which was $34,527.12 not counting commissions. Once the news became public, she no longer benefitted from insider information.

You do have a point with the ImClone insider stock trading she did. First and foremost she has her own corporation selling interior decorating stuff through KMart (if I remember right, I don't keep up with frauds like her) and stockholders own shares of that corporation. Of course her corporation is worth what I am guessing is $400M vs ImClone which is worth a fraction of that amount.

Second she thought could profit from her ImClone shares which altogether are less than three-quarters of a million dollars, to her I call that pocket money. She got too greedy here, she made a couple bucks from her ImClone shares but at the same time when her insider stock trading became known her OWN stock plummeted so she lost bigtime here.

As for Martha Stewart herself whenever she has her show filmed in her hometown of Nutley, NJ she has the cops fence off the whole block and people who live within that block can't go home until the filming is over. Also in order for her to succeed in America she feels she must abandon ALL traces of her Polish heritage (born Martha Helen Kostyra). Nobody should feel that way in order to succeed in America. And yes she blames others for her personal problems.

Anyways like Martha Stewart right now I have a huge kitchen knife in my hand and I really want to focus on my salad (hehe).

I don't even think it's a question of greed. I think her friend Waksal tried to do her an illegal favor. She had a legal obligation to turn him in, but then she'd be known as a squealer, a derogative I've seen many times her on FR. She's a loser either way.

She sold 10 % of her own stock , just after this ImClone mess, because she KNEW that it would negatively impact the net worth of her very own stock. How much was that ? Glad you asks. LOL

Just days BEFORE the news about Kmart's bankruptcy became public knowledge ( and almost 2 months AFTER she sold her ImClone stock ) , she sold roughly 9 % , or three million shares, of her MSO stock, for $45,000,000. This, after having sold 1 % ( roughly 450,000 shares for $8.5 million ) a few months earlier.

Now, you've just learned some of my " little " ( ? ) knowledge about what's been going on. Hope it helps you to more fully understand what's what. :-)

Hey ... she's been seriously not all there for years ! She used to self mutilate herself, accuse her husband of having an affair with just about EVERYONE she could name ( long before he EVER even looked at another woman ! ), and was / is a congenital liar !
