Dear Freepers:
I just returned from the First Annual Free Republic Network Convention in Las Vegas.
The Free Republic Network Cruise last October was the most fun I've ever had in my whole life. The Free Republic Network Conference I just attended was the most informative and inspiring two days I've ever had in my whole life.
The Free Republic Network is stretching its muscle, not by talk, but by action. The Free Republic forum is liberty's college. The Free Republic Network is liberty's workplace.
If you attended, please use this thread to post your observations, comments and highlights of the conference. I will give mine below. But before I do, I'd like to take this time to thank Bob Johnson and the FRN board for putting on this conference. It's hard for me to find the words to adequately describe how great this experience was--and how much I learned.

Thanks for the link, but that post actually wasn't about you. Unless, that is, your ego has been entirely subsumed by Connie.
My only reference to you was to note a particularly striking bit of hypocrisy...
And that's all I have to say to you. We're here to talk about FRIVA and what we're doing with the Free Republic Network.
To: Just another Joe
Me? Have patience??? That'll be the day! LOL!
To: Syncro
Well, those three notes sound okay. Is there any more that you can email me for my archives? Thanks...

All I could find was the end of your song...post 461
I will have to look for the beginning later....

From the fog I remember IT saying he was going to pull his notes together regarding the Sunday meeting. That's right.
I suggest we post an overview thread on Thursday so everyone can continue the discussion, either here or at the Network site.
To: All; Angelwood
I'll not comment further on this thread. I spoke up because I'm tired of the bullying and the free pass given some to break the no personal attack rules and push people around who ask questions.
I listened to FRiva on the radio and it sounded like it was a good event and I'm glad those who attended had a great time. I don't begrudge anyone there that, including the Network.
The D.C. Chapter is honored to be voted Free Republic's chapter of the year by our fellow FReepers (not the Network--which we are not affiliated with, BTW.)
Angelwood and I had sent a message to be read at FRiva but apparently that didn't happen. Perhaps she can post it here.
The D.C. Chapter earned its way into the hearts of our fellow FReepers by being open, inclusive, friendly and honorable over the past four years in all that we have tried to do to further the cause of Free Republic. In all modesty, our record speaks for itself, but we couldn't have done it without the support of FReepers nationwide and for that we are grateful.

I will agree that was an excellent video presentation. I forgot to ask y'all who performed the "Freedom song" used near the end of the video. It really got the place fired up and a few "look-sees" from the wedding reception next door.
Thank you guys for all your hard work in producing that video (and congratulations lowbridge on your lucky streak while at the airport).

.30, Slip18 truly is a class act.
My wife is not a FReeper and Slip really made her feel welcome.
In a room full of political activists my wife was made to feel COMFORTABLE!
A feat truly worthy of admiration.
To: Syncro
That was great. You are great. Thank you!

So did your cat enjoy all that caviar?

I guess the question is, do you want our side to win? We can take the moral high ground all we want, but if we want to win, there are techniques to be used, there is a certain discipline that must be developed, and these are things that can be learned and taught.Yes yes yes yes. This was the most important point of the conference. Conservatives need to learn how to do this stuff from the folks who have been doing it.
The Leadership Institute training was great. Any freeper who has a chance to get this should jump at the chance. I think it will be available at the next FR Network Conference. Make sure you are there.
Plus, it was a lot of fun.

"...our record speaks for itself,"
Yes it does. You have my eternal gratitude for the tremedous job you folks have done. You set the example. I just wish the DC Chapter and the Network could bury the hatchet and start working together. You would bring A LOT to the table.

I just wish the DC Chapter and the Network could bury the hatchet and start working together. Amen brothuh! I'd like to see it happen too. Soonest.

Is one of your chapter members planning a lawsuit against Jim Robinson, Free Republic, or any other FReepers?

I am so glad you came to the conference and I'm sorry we were unable to get you on the activist panel. Next time, for sure!

Is one of your chapter members planning a lawsuit against Jim Robinson, Free Republic, or any other FReepers? Uh, Bob, Kristinn just said he wasn't going to comment further.
Also, you're taking us off topic again.

Where did you find an "In-and-Out Burger" joint? That's the one thing I miss from California. "Whataburger" in Texas just doesn't come close to the joy of eatting a "Double Double" from "In-and-Out."
I had to settle for a "Burger King" "Whopper" for breakfast on Sunday, as I woke up too late to catch breakfast in the Buffet and didn't want to wait in line at the Coffee Shop or the Denny's across the street. And that sir is a very poor substitute for a "Double Double" from "In-and-Out." :)
