The Asscoiated Press posted this same type article at the NYT.com site but stated hundreds of blacks and not thousands. I believe we need to finally put Reuters in the ashcan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To: Chi-townChief
They chanted: "Start the Revolution".
This is every rednecks wet dream, and about all of the excuse they'll need. Some of these blacks are they're own worst enemy.

OOOOPS! meant to post the above on the Reuters thread.........Oh well!

"There are at least two lawsuits against private companies already working their way through the courts."
Johnny Cockran doesn't expect to win either of those suits. The strategy is to keep suing businesses until they get tired of the legal expenses and put the arm on Congress to pay the reparations from tax revenues.

The DNC is scared Sh%$%^less of this issue, they are now in the process of trying to reach out to whites(after all they really do not want another repeat of the 2000 Presidential elections)Reparations will cause a revolt not only by white union blue collars, but also Hispanics,Asians and others will be turned off by paying reparations. The one thing going for the 'Rats, is that the GOP, may not have the big brass ones to use the issue(the fear of being Willie Hortonized) even though it is a winning issue.
I believe most race-hustlers know that there will be no payments for slavery, but to them it is a good issue to show their followers that this is proof of THE MAN is keeping them down, and it keeps the "oppressed peoples" from paying attention to the race hustlers' failures to bring prosperity in the inner city. One man's opinon, I hope it's good.

My point is that they would be WORSE off once the money was pittered away.
Of course, as soon as they get their check, they're gonna quit their jobs, then buy a nice car, which they will not be able to afford to maintain, etc etc.
They will have more debts and no job...
"Why did you leave your last position, Ms Smith"?
"Well, I got me my reparations check, so I quit".

Barron, a self-proclaimed "elected revolutionary," said if the government did not act swiftly he personally would storm the Treasury Department ( news - web sites) and take the money for reparations.Yeah, uh-huh, sure....
To: DugwayDuke
07055 is correct, your proposal solves nothing and for this reason.I would not have expected my proposal to become a reality. I was just being somewhat sarcastic. In my opinion, nothing can be done nor will be done to handle slavery reparations. To do so will only divide the country more than ever, which will cause poor African/Americans to become even more poor.

"We need land for political independence..."I say we should use this opportunity to kill two birds with the same morons.
Put all of the blacks wanting land, on the US/Mexico border and point em' south. They get their land, and we keep that petty tyrant Fox busy with his own illegal immigration problem.

I mentioned it in another thread, but I'll repeat it here. I caught the tail end of the rally on C-SPAN, and saw a salsa band singing a lively tune called "I Want My Money." That's what it's all about. Welfare takes on a new form.

I recognize your sarcasm, but I think talk like this is very dangerous and it comes up on every reparations thread. It is dangerous because this type of proposal admits the validity of the reparations claim and reduces the argument to negotiations over how much.
Divide the country? It would cause a race war. Consider a typical community a few days after the reparations checks go out. One portion of the community is buying new houses and driving new cars. The other portion is taking out a second mortgage to finance their increased tax bill. How long before those new houses start to burn?
This is why the adults in the Democratic Party won't touch this, they know they would lose office. They won't get any votes from the black community, they've already maxed out that mine and they will lose the suburban vote.
This is why the adults in the black community (as opposed to what you saw on TV today) have switched from direct payments to individuals to payments to black interest groups. Of course, those adults in the black community run the black interest groups too. BTW, today's rally was nothing more than a hometown reunion of the black radicals from the sixties and seventies. You did notice Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Johnny Cochran, etc. were not present. Only Calypso Louie showed up. In fact, this really was a black separtist rally.

"I want to go up to the closest white person and say, 'You can't understand this, it's a black thing,' and then slap him, just for my mental health," Charles Barron, a member of the New York City Council, told the crowd. If it does something for your mental health to put your physical health inside an oxygen tent, a full body cast, AND traction, have at it!

They chanted: "Start the Revolution".Let's roll.
P.S. You think our first black President will grab a rifle, jump in the trenches and fight and die for his people? Fat ****ing chance.
To: marvlus
I say this. For every African-American that wants reparations, the conditions are as follows: 1) Take $100,000 2) Be stripped of U.S. Citizenship 3) Be exported back to Africa 4) Never attempt to come back to the U.S. Drop item one from the above and I'll agree...

Yeah, they should ask for the money the Africans who sold them recieved! Personally, I want retribution for the leg my granduncle lost while soldiering to stop slavery.

I just hope they realize that what they are really pushing for is a civil war. Because if reparations ever becomes anything more than a leftist carnival act, and actually becomes law, that is precisely what those pushing it will get. >>I doubt it.
>>You underestimate the power of the media to make white people ashamed of their inner feelings.
What makes you think the commie lib media isnt going to be at the top of our list? Eradicate the accomplices FIRST!

Thanks to you and DugwayDuke for the the clear answers. I think this is a question that should be put to everyone running for office as they are "leaders" of the community and nation. We know where the usual suspects stand but what about the ones that are trying for higher office such as Kirk in Texas? Where do they stand? For that fact where is the democrat leadership of congress on this? The silence seems to deafening.

It would NEVER be over...With every black child born, there would be a cry of "Where's HIS/HERS?"...It would be ANOTHER SHARE in the pockets of the "parents".
The extortion would never stop.
