This is why the Left has made so many attempts to recast the language, because by this, they hope to recast thought itself, if not destroy it. This was one of the methods employed by Big Brother to recast the thought processes of the people in the book "1984". When you eliminate the word from the mind, you eliminate the ability to think the concept of the word. I re-read the book when my daughter had to read it in High School and was flabbergasted at the parallels between the Big Brother plan and the current state of affairs.

The DU (Dumb Uglies) tearing themselves apart over this? lol, that must be the first real debate to ever take place over there.

I didn't know what. Why did you ask me?

Interestingly, BBC is leading their stories on Short Wave tonight with "Several thousand" as attending today's festivities. Didn't look to be more than several hundred from what few crowd shots I saw.

You're either African, or American. Which side are you on?

2003, Reparation Rally at the UN in NYC September 2003 Will a dozen people show up for that one too?

Did I miss Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton's appearance? Jesse was in Tallahassee Fla. staging a "lynch Jeb Bush" press conference for Reno, DNC and the Florida/national/international incestuous press...granddaddy, AP, covered it of course.
Jesse's putting the Dems. before his "brothers".

I wonder if they'll get better treatment from the NYC cops than the TRT did in July 2001.
For example, you can't stand here in front of the UN. No demonstrators allowed inside the UN. No pictures in front of the UN.

No, they aren't stupid as such -- no sense asking african tribal leaders for money -- they either don't have any, or won't give any out. In this sense, they are following the classic 'deep pockets' strategem.

What do the folks on DU want to do with Johnny Jihad, put him up in a luxury hotel?

Ignorance, poor use of English, and rudeness is not the destiny of a particular class - it is a choice that people make. That's quite true. I'm the son of a Bronx busdriver, and would never dream of using such language.

Re your low turn out discussion, yes, I found it encouraging first hand: I had relatives in from out of town and was showing them the Air and Space Museum. There was just a scattering of people near the Capitol and they asked me what it was about, and I said: "Oh, it's a protest. There's usually one going on every other weekend or so." They just shrugged and we went in. This was around 11 a.m. I dare say there are more posts in this thread than people at the rally. I am certain that more African Americans visited the Air and Space Museum today than visited the rally site. Teaching kids to love science.
So this was truly one of those news events that occurred only in the unreal world of news. Like we asked on 9/29: What if you had a rally and no one came? Sheesh, even Jesse Jackson didn't come to this one!! It was such a non-event that my out-of-town niece, who's four and asks EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING, and same for the 6-year old nephew, really didn't have any follow up questions about the rally.
Sigh: why can't the liberal media report that there were lots of nice black families at the Air and Space Museum today? Some times I think *that* would be news to them -- black middle class families educating their kids well.

"
I want to know, where's Jesse and JJ JR?"
They were already scheduled to lie at another function. Conflicting Liar's schedules, or something like that...

Militiaman7 in front of the UN, July 2001, just before the cops ran us off.
