My Texas ancestor finally managed to scrape up enough money to afford some slaves (six of them, $3000 worth - as noted on the tax rolls) in 1854. I think that means that I should only have to pay reparations from 1854 till the date of the emancipation proclamation in 1863. It's only fair....and all the brothers on C-Span insist they want fairness, right?

If I'm not mistaken, Calypso Louie also said, 50 million slaves died in transit and that slavery lasted 310 years.

The people who are running the reparations effort have said, slavery lasted 246 years, from 1619 to 1865 and that 35,520 slaves were annually shipped to the US.

Calypso Louie is a liar.

One thing I noticed in the crowd was a particular sign that read "Progess is today". I really dont think bringing up a DEAD issue from the past is really progress. I go about my daily life looking at black people as nothing but people like myself. After watching this I am just reminded of our differences. I fear that many others will see things the same way.
