RE: post #31.
That would be #2 fan. The #1 fan is on the hook for questions and panel stuff. 'Pod

Well, the police were "on the record" when they were talking about Matthews' firing on the cops and all that, and the police chief never demanded a retraction of whatever was said in his name, so do you think he's prepared to stand by his department?

I think the police chief is prepared to stand by the truth, or as much of it as can be established by the Grand Jury on the basis of the evidence. That's what I think.

He DROVE OFF from the first stop, you idiot. Then he displays a gun when they catch up again - not a real good life decision - only after he's been given plenty of chances does he decide to do a shoot 'em up. Reading that thread was like watching a train wreck in slow motion. So terrible...yet I couldn't turn my eyes askance... Slack jawed anarchists dragging the Constitution through mud to excuse the cold blooded murder of some hapless officer, goose stepping nimrods using that occassion to smear any supporters of a smaller, Constitutional government as absolutist co-murderers...
Will FR survive? Of course. Will it become a dumbed down organ of the RNC, stormfront lite, or will Jim be able to reign in his monster and keep it on mission (a gathering place for Conservative thought/debate, and a government corruption watchdog)?
The Republicans have always sucked without Democrat overlords to play the bad guys. I think Conservatives are just so used to flinging mud at liberals that, now that they made themselves small and inconsequential, the wings within the Conservative movement have become much bigger targets. Indians squabbling amongst themselves rather than joining forces to keep the English and smelly French at bay while they were still weak.
Now I like having an army that can kill everybody else in the world, great highways, and the government built internet as much as the next guy, but I don't want to pay higher taxes and register my guns because everyone seems to have forgotten Reagan's 11th commandment. FR is just a microcosm of the Conservative movement in general. As FR goes, so goes the Republic in a few years hence. The thought of the English with their haughty "I told you a nation couldn't survive without a monarch" smirks just doesn't sit well with me. Queen Hillary - feh!
This must not be allowed to happen. Lets kiss and make up. (Each statist Freeperette must kiss and hug an anarchy boy and each anarchy girl must kiss a statist boy...and then watch how kinky it gets)
Let's be kinky one more time for the Gipper!

Hey man,
I'm going to tune in tomorrow night. This is going to be fun! If I tune in, I can't call in, and I'm not much of a phone person anyway.

The problem is that there are many people at FR that call themselves conservatives but they are libertarians. Big differnce. Conservatives stand for something. Libertarians stand for nothing.
To: Southack
Maybe new posters are not "new". Maybe they are old members that signed up under new nicknames. HMMM.
To: one_particular_harbour
"...is FR for sensible political action by principled conservatives and philosophical allies among folks who generally fit in to a category of small "l" libertarians who vote GOP, or is it going to be dominated by a band of disaffected, wrong, socially isolated losers? I think its for the first group and nt the second." -one_particular_ harbour.
Translation: Is FR for those who are interested in the success of the Republican Party and the large political organizations that lobby for it or is it for those who are interested in furthering the conservative movement and those seeking a return to a government based on the U.S. Constitution (ie, bill of rights, removal of unlawful federal taxation, agencies, return to honest money).
As for the crack about the disaffected, isolationist losers in your opinion who do not belong here, let me ask you this: who among us is not a loser when federal spending increases per year under GOP control of Congress, and when a GOP President who likes to make a show of driving a pickup truck pushes liberal agendas that Clinton couldn't get away with?
The only winners in that scenario are those who benefit from the political show battles on the hill between parties who cover up each others misdeeds. They have a legion of propagandists on both sides of the political spectrum that continue to spread the word that it really matters which party runs the Fed Program.
Summary: You must diagnose the patient before doing major surgery. Unfortunately the patient is now drugged up and hacked beyond all recognition.
