S.F. Judges Ordered to Cut Ties to Scouts

SAN FRANCISCO - Don't try to be a judge in San Francisco if you work with the Boy Scouts. Judges in San Francisco are being barred from associating with the Boy Scouts because of the Scouts' opposition to homosexuals being in leadership positions.

The new policy, adopted by the city's Superior Court, prohibits the court's judges and commissioners from participating in any organization that excludes members "... on the grounds that their sexual orientation renders them 'unclean,' 'immoral' or 'unfit.' "

Bob Knight, director of the Washington, D.C.-based Culture and Family Institute, said the policy is ludicrous and offensive.

"In other words, the Boy Scouts are supposed to be so evil for protecting boys from homosexuality that you can't be a judge if you have anything to do with them," Knight said.

National Scout spokesman Gregg Shields said the Boy Scouts will take no action since it is not directly affected.

"In a piece of irony here, the people who are aggrieved or the people who are having their rights trampled here would be the judges themselves," Shields said.

Nonetheless, he called the policy "indefensible" and "inappropriate."

"The judges of the court are supposed to be devoted to fairness and impartiality and respectful treatment of all who appear before them," Shields said. "And yet, they've chosen to publicly reject lawfully held private views."

In fact, attorney Brad Dacus with the Pacific Justice Institute, a religious-liberties group based in Citrus Heights, Calif., argues the new restrictions go far beyond the Scouts.

"We're dealing with a policy that prohibits judges' involvement or participation with any organization that teaches homosexuality as being immoral," Dacus said.

There's a move to take the policy statewide in California. Dacus' group has offered to represent any judge who objects.

I am a judge in San Francisco (hypothetical situation). I am a deacon and life time member of a fundamental Southern Baptist Church. Does this ruling mean I can no longer practice my religion?

This is ludicrous and absurd!

"Throw California out of the Union"

I've been saying that for years.

Is there a Conservative alive in SF? Just one? How can anyone bare to live in that horrid state (politically)?

I know it is beautiful there with a great climate - but come on...at what cost, your soul???

Even if they ARE unclean, immoral, and unfit? Hmmmm. Judges may have to resign from the Army Reserves and Air Force Reserves too. Gays seem more and more to advocate ONLY THEIR OWN freedom and disrespect that of the majority. Hmmmm?

I live in Southern California where we regard San Francisco as a foreign entity. Since they are mostly gay the problem will go away in a generation or so.

Let's see what's next:

The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee asks for only Arab Judges for their trials,

Under The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 the EEOC asks for older Judges for their trials,

Under The Pregnancy Discrimination Act, which is an amendment to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, The Dept of Justice asks for only women, or men that have become pregnant to be their Judges;

Only Disabled Judges can rule on Disability trials;

The Council on Size & Weight Discrimination asks for weight challenged Judges;

Housing discrimination complaints can only be heard by Judges who own homes;

Since The Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) and the Fair Housing Act (FHA) protect you against discrimination when you apply for a mortgage to purchase, refinance, or make home improvements, the Judge better have a mortgage;

And since the ECOA prohibits discrimination in any aspect of a credit transaction based on:
race or color;
religion;
national origin;
sex;
marital status;

what would be required for the Judge in a case of an Black Catholic Female from Ethiopian who is married, but having a lesbian affair and was denied an apartment to use for the rendezvous?

As the success of Michael Savage's radio program (now in decline with me since he started straying from the matters and the manners that made him listenable) and the station from which he grew popular (KSFO), there are a great number of people with conservative viewpoints there.

Unfortunately, most of those work for a living. They are outside of government and media there. They don't have useful idiots and derelicts on the streets performing street theater for slavering camera mules from the 11 O'clock news helping them make their political points. Even the Fox affiliate in SF is suspect. (aside: For instance they often either canceled the Sunday show or put it on at odd times. That's changed now -- probably because Fox is moving more leftward).

SF suffers public policy decadence because there is so few conservatives who can outspend the enemies of decency in employing every waking hour to their cause. See, the enemies of decency are paid from the tax coffers -- filled by the work of those very conservatives. In that scenario, conservatives are unwilling enablers, but enabler's still.

Mob rule is one of the things which led to the destruction of the ancient Roman Republic (see my profile page). This government-media complex is making the actions of America's mob-like sickos appear to be the squeaky wheel, when, in reality, the very concept of America is on the chopping block, slowly being eroded from within (decadence and apathy and fear and traitorous leadership) and from without (pressure from likes of the U.N. and ICC that demands that the U.S. lower it's standards so that the rest of the world will look better in comparison*).

It's all just part of a show that needs very much to be canceled. Cut back on your expenses and you'll have more time to spend defending our American way of life. I know there is a double edged sword there to be concerned about, but can we really afford to let economics always be in the driver's seat? Without moral concerns having a turn at the wheel, we are heading very much away from heaven.

I spent the last 6 months hardly working at all. Instead I chose, amoung other things, to attempt to shore up my homefront by returning to L.A. and spending more time contributing my observations and opinions to FR and elsewhere. Now, I've had to go back to work again. Someone else will need to take up my slack while I build up my coffers again.

* The leaders of other countries want our leaders to be merciful with them. If American's freedoms are diminished, it helps take the pressure off other world leaders to treat their own people more mercifully. And mercy to the world's population is definitely not the direction the NWO wishes to go.

"Well, in this case, it's the judges telling themselves what they can and cannot do."

I agree. They are seeking to enforce ideological consistency, ensuring the removal or resignation of conservative judges (if there are any remaining).

One of the goals of our political system had been to protect the minority from the will of the majority. The deviants (am I allowed to say deviants?) and Leftists use this safeguard until they have attained a tactical local superiority, whereupon they then set aside these protections, enforcing their will without scruple. This has been especially lethal in the case of lawyers and judges, whose destructive capacity is out of all proportion to their actual numbers.

Not only San Francisco.Here in providence we had a nice spot called River Road where you could fish for stripers or take a walk or sit on a bench.Now vehicles are barred from the raod because the gays made it a pick-up zone day and night -the neighbors complained,so now everyone's screwed.There is no parking readily accesible.The city hall flies a "gay pride" flag every year.There is a parade and festival.The gays and lesbians will keep up this in-your-face attitude until there is a reaction they'd never imagined. They could just quietly live their lives and stop promoting deviancy as normal-but no,they have to push it.The hell with them.Just try to find one gay who wouldn't rather be straight.It's a disease.

I agree with your statement. Isn't this policy de facto evidence that the judges WON'T be impartial in dealing with any religious, scouting, or social club whose policies they "don't like"? If I had a case before such a judge, it seems I could now legitimately claim that there is no way to get a fair trial from them.

I have a liberal friend who pushs for gay rights. I try to get her to understand that if queers don't make it an issue most normal people would ignore it. But oh no, they need special treatment and we should all accept it as normal. They ruined the word "gay" by changing the meaning. They make me sick.

It's certainly an upside down country and world. Immoral for not wanting to associate with sexual deviants? Oh, but wait, I thought left-wing types believed that morality shouldn't be forced on others via the law...

I wonder if the Bolsheviks consider pedophilia to be a "sexual orientation?"

Not at the rate they are snagging new recruits.
