This is a GREAT article! I'm sending it to a couple of my Liberal "experts" on Gun Control!

WHEN ONLY THE GOVERNMENT HAS GUNS

When the Liberals put these signs on their SUV's and Front Yard, I know they actually believe their blatant hypocrisy.

TRUE LIBERAL THINKING

Gun control?

"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks."

-- Thomas Jefferson to Peter Carr, 1785. The Writings of Thomas Jefferson, (Memorial Edition) Lipscomb and Bergh, editors.

BTW, I promised someone I'd post links for him on these threads. When I remember who, I'll give him credit.

4. The Brady Bill and the Assault Weapons Ban, both of which went into effect in 1994, are responsible for the decrease in violent crime rates, which have been declining since 1991.

Also - states and communities passing "shall issue" Concealed Carry laws enabling more law-abiding citizens to defend themselves.

Are we referring to "Straw Purchase" Sarah Brady? The one who bought a rifle for her son but registered it in her name? THAT Sarah Brady?

Of course, after Bob Barr shot a glass door the other night with a flagrant case of Unintentional Discharge, all you can do is, ah, well, duhhhh.

17. Private citizens shouldn't have handgunsAND shotguns with barrels under 18 inches, because they serve no military purpose, and private citizens shouldn't have "assault rifles," because they are military weapons.

US vs. Miller - 1939. Had this terrible ruling never happened, Randy Weaver's wife and son would still be alive.

41. The 1st ammendment "right of the press" applies to ALL modern electronic media - not just the manually operated printing presses of the 18th century. The "arms" mentioned in the 2nd ammendment applies only to 18th century smoothbore muskets, not modern "automatic killing machines", because the founders never envisioned such a terrible weapon in the hands of civillians.

10. The New England Journal of Medicine is filled with expert advice about guns; just like Guns and Ammo has some excellent treatises on heart surgery.

My favorite. As a doctor the NEJM anti-gun crusade makes me question everything else I read there.
