A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001
So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!
And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

~ ~ FREEDOM'S WORTH IT ! ! ! ~ ~ by LadyX
Those early colonists who established the concept of a land free from England's harsh and restrictive rule surely kept that cry in mind!
From Lexington to Concord - from Trenton to Valley Forge - Charleston to Savannah, and echoing in the halls in Philadephia where the Continental Congress was shaped; men who crafted the birth of a Republic kept the idea foremost in their minds.
More than 200 years later, we still repeat the cry; America a bright and shining star among the nations of the world.
One of our Free Republic members chose that screen name to denote her own beliefs - that a nation dedicated to God and His principles could grow and prosper.
It is with enormous pride that today we present and honor our very own Freedom'sWorthIt !!!
Freedom'sWorthIt
Member since August 7, 1998
Knowing of my long association with Freedom'sWorth it, Billie asked for my help with the lead-in. Nothing could please me more, being privileged to meet in her in person in November 1998. In Charlotte, North Carolina we had a gathering of CAROLINA Freepers, FWI traveling from Raleigh, NC and I from South Carolina to attend.
Our friendship grew and deepened through e-mail and Freep mail, both of us Christian and committed to promoting a conservative America.
She was among those who attended the 1998 March of Justice in Washington, D.C. She is one of THE most compassionate, passionate and well-spoken among our many Freepers. Her expressions on a broad range of subjects are without fail from the heart and beautifully articulated.
It is with pleasure that I add first my own recognition to you, Freedom'sWorthIt!
My thanks to you, LadyX, for being our Guest Writer today; I knew you would do a beautiful tribute, for I've seen the expressive way you have with words. You know that you'll be called upon again!
My thanks to you, FWI, for all that you do and all that you are.....you are truly one of FR's Finest, and I hope you enjoy your day in the !

That's a gorgeous picture of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Someday, you'll have to take a foliage tour in the fall. The colors are heart-stoppingly beautiful.

Thanks for the beautiful Roses - and kind words, Daisyscarlett!
And Valerie - I am so happy you made it to NC!!! And shared those scenes from our beautiful mountains. Aren't they gorgeous?
The Blue Ridge Parkway is just a wonderful way to spend a few days - and almost every vista is breathtaking!

Thanks. I sat here scratching my head and trying to remember and it just wouldn't come. I am so ashamed about not remembering Pickens and Sumter especially because two of the prettiest towns in South Carolina are named for them.
Thanks Carolina

I got chills reading that transcript - no knowledge about the availabilty of the audio version. Freeper mountaineer over at The Guild thread provided us that amazing link - she's an intrepid reporter of news and current events. ;-)

I would love to see the mountains in the fall. Don't know when I can make it back east again - took me 43 years to get there the first time. *L*

Thank you, mtngrl, for posting those ProBush - anti Goron election theft - rally pictures!
Pinging a few who might want to see them.....
There are others but I forget names.
Our local FR contingent used to meet once a month - back in our "resistance" days. We got to Freep Algore when he visited Raleigh - and were prepared when the Goron did the unthinkable - by challenging an election result that should never have been challenged!!! (Their fraud attempt did not succeed - as hard as they tried - because of George W Bush is a fighter - and would not roll over as other "victims" of the Demonrat machine have done----- and because thousands of people across this country took to the streets to protest this attempted crime!!! ---- AND BECAUSE OF PRAYER - AND GOD AT WORK IN THE EVENTS OF OUR NATION!!!)
Anyway - we rallied 3 weekends and then finally when the Goron came to his senses and gave up (after that mighty struggle with the US Supreme court 7 to 2 (not 5 to 4) finally sealing the victory (it should never have gone that far!!) - we had a victory celebration in downtown Raleigh.
All four events were held in cold bone chilling rain.
That kept the Goron crazies away - probably a good thing - as you know from the Fresono Freeps - some are truly wicked!

And here's a picture of some of the Freepers from North Carolina present at the March for Justice in Washington DC in October of 1998. If you look closely you can see Jim Rob leading the flag processional:

Ummmmm Lodwick, just one more ittsy bittsy, teeny weeny, tininsy thing - if I were making a real southern breakfast for you, would consist of the scrambled eggs, country ham and red-eye gravy or sausage or bacon, scratch biscuits and with absolute certainty - Grits! Cain't, nope just cain't serve a southerner like FreedomsWorthit anything but the real thang! 'Cause she's a true G.R.I.T.S, (girl raised in the South!!!!)
But your breakfast does look good!
To: lodwick
*LOL* Okay, Loddy.
Here's the cat in the barn at the Mountain Farm Museum, NC

How exciting (but at the time scary) those days following the election and prior to George W. Bush being declared the new president of the United States were! Knowing now that the outcome was a positive one, I am so glad to have lived through that time. Every day there was some new strange turn of events. Most of us weren't able to be away from a television or radio for even a minute. You might miss the latest decision from one court or another!
I am proud of you FReepers who went out in the awful weather to show your support for President Bush! That couldn't have been an easy thing to do, but I am sure it was heartwarming for (now) President Bush to see that people like you were out there standing on the corner showing your support for him.
I thank God each and every day that He blessed us with President Bush and that we didn't have to live through years of the (shudder) alternative.
You got to FReep algore in person? I am jealous!

And we freeped Reno at Duke also

You certainly made good use of your time in N.C. Your photos are just wonderful and truly depict the Great Smokey Mountains of N.C. All I can say is:

Ooooo that is a beautiful vase of flowers and with my FR name on the graphic, no less! Thanks, MamaBear!!!! Beautiful and very welcome here.
To: blackbag
Hi, BB! Yes, YOU did! I had forgotten that - I didn't make that one! But you guys did great! Thanks for the efforts, BB - as always - you are one of the best!
To: mtngrl@vrwc
AMEN! And, yes, we got to Freep Algore. It shook up our staid little town....because nobody understood that anybody would have the gall to do that. The Demrat machine in NC takes a back seat to very very few.
