I registered on Free Republic 4 years ago today, and that was after lurking for 6 months or so.
Free Republic remains the top internet site for news and opinion. I haven't become bored with it, I haven't found anything better, and I am still addicted.
The Free Republic forum is an incredible and valuable source of news, information, links, and the posters (by and large) are knowledgable and entertaining. Here's to another 4 years ( of George Bush and Free Republic)
Have a nice evening and the very best to you and yours.

I thought this was interesting from the "Coke is it" thread:
To: CHIEF negotiator I still don't think he has done any drugs CURRENTLY. I can only hope I'm wrong. I also do not think he would ever resign...never ever ever. He could shot Ken Starr on the White House steps and the Demon-rats would still support him. From: Ann Archy () * 07/21/98 13:43:39 EDT
He never did ever give up. What ever happened to this poster?
The old threads should never be unlocked. However, they should be able to be, and some of the shorter ones probably are, able to be posted as new articles themselves to be commented upon, IMHO.
Yep, I remember it was a time where we were getting a bunch of newbies. I can't remember what event inspiried all the newbies, but we were also getting a lot of disruptors too. It got to the point where trust became an issue with these newbies. I do have to say, 50% of them were disruptors, IMHO. But we sure gave them a hard time, didn't we? LOL,LOL.
LOL, perhaps we should celebrate everyone's anniversary....Happy FR Day.
Too funny.
Absodurnlutely!
Well, maybe not quite binary, but I do recall keeping a stash of HTML codes because
The Newbies never closed their dagnab tags!!
Sound of BtD hyperventilating...
You don't have to anymore, of course...
Wow! Four years! That’s a long time!
(ran across this and couldn’t resist. Hope you get a nostalgic kick out of the bump LOL!)
too funny, LOL
What a great vision Jom Rob had. And what a great community of mostly great people around here - freepers are an impressive lot.
Freeper numbers aren’t displayed anymore. I don’t know why. As I recall, mine was in the low 40s, maybe 43 (?).
My FR anniversary is coming up later this month. Seventeen years sure have flown by.
Congrats.
As much as I enjoy the place, I found it appropriate for me to donate monthly.
I’m not sayin’ that you (or anytone else out there) should feel guilty if you don’t.
However I am posting it. ;)
Then many of the posters on this thread look familiar to you as well.
Oh yeah. No question about that. :=)
