Terrible, isn't it? Perhaps FReepers have forgotten that in the beginning of their anti-SUV campaign, the environazi definition of "SUV" includes 4 wheel drive pickups? Or that ultimately, it still does? Also, they want ATV's and snomobiles relegated to dusty humps under tarps in our garages?
Is it any wonder the environazis hate a president who truly wants to do right by the environment, AND us, partly because he drives a 4x4 pickup?

I'm thinking of making up some flyers, and I KNOW someone posted something along these lines, but got ME where they're at.....anyway, when school starts in the fall, to go stick these anti-Dem flyers on the cars of all the vans, SUV's, pick-ups in the school parking lot. I seriously believe that since the media's so liberal, most of these moms don't even know what's going on up in Sacramento.
And I do believe, grammatically, that must be the WORST post ever on FR. Sheesh. I hope you got it....

"And I do believe, grammatically, that must be the WORST post ever on FR. Sheesh. I hope you got it...."LOL...Nah, I got it. Add to your flyers that the Gwich'in Indians joined the leftist media and their environazi pals in fighting ANWR drilling because they were busy starting their own oil company and probably didn't want the competition. Link from Grampa's excellent Sacramento Bee post I'm SOOO glad they archived those articles.
Err...don't worry about your posts... They're much easier to understand than most of mine. I'm pretty sure that if FR awards were ever given out to the worst typest, worst proof reader, and goofiest grammatical errors, they'd go to me <G>

Enviro-wacko bashing really drains the old brain cells. I need to go to bed so I can start fresh tomorrow...after I go murder some VERY endangered (by me) weeds in my garden.
My prayers remain with all Oregon FReepers. In fact, I expect to have nightmares about million acre wildfires tonight.

Here ya' go...
Kitzhaber Surveys Fire Damage
PAISLEY, Ore. (KPTV) -- Governor John Kitzhaber called for Congress to allocate more resources to fight against wildfires after taking a helicopter tour of fires across the state.
After surveying the damage Kitzhaber compared the importance of fighting wildfires to the fight against terrorism. "This is as much a war as the war we are fighting in Afghanistan," Kitzhaber said. Kitzhaber also called for Congress to allocate permanent appropriations for more of firefighting resources in the future.
According to U.S. Forest Service spokesman Rex Holloway, the $321 million allocated by Congress to fight wildfires nationwide for the year is already spent. The total cost of fighting wildfires this year could reach $1 billion by the time fire season ends.
Governor Kitzhaber did not blame the fires on lightening strikes, but instead pointed the finger at unhealthy forests in need of thinning. "This is a huge problem. Unless you make the forests healthy, you're going to face this risk every summer."
I can't get the link for this report, but it's on KPTV's website.

Are you the author? Yes. Thanks for the complement. I'm leaving on a speaking tour on Thursday, so I'll be scarce for a while.
Enjoy the site.

My girlfriend works in Cave Junction, and she said the ashes were literally falling as thick as snow. She's staying home in Grants Pass for the nonce.
In Medford, we're being hit by the fire near Shady Cove, the air smells, looks and feels like a fireplace with a stuffed chimney...it's absolutely horrible.

World Net Daily's HQ is in Selma, 10 miles east of CJ, but as I understand it, they've been evacuated also.

I don't know if the Basin's fog is from Biscuit, or Timbered Rock. I'm guessing a combo of both. Hope you don't live near Elk Creek. Understand the inversion lifted & the fire is on its own again.

I live in Portland, OR, next door to a greenie, college educated couple. When I suggested that this summer's fires were a terrible waste, that thousands of jobs and billions of dollars could have been conributed to the economy by cutting the timber, they disagreed: "because most of the money would have gone to just a few of the rich." God help us. *GAG* Talk about being indoctrinated by the Loony Liberal Left!

The weather man reports more thunderstorms headed this way. (I hope he is wrong) Hopefully the storms will not cause any more fires from lightning strikes. I hope your weather man is wrong also. The last thing you need out there is more lightning. Thanks for your information about the Applegate and Illinois Valley areas. I sincerely hope all is well where you live... stay safe!

Great graphic. The group at NAU is trying to do research in an attempt to solve this problem in the least costly manner in terms of dollars and the environment. I say trying, because the greenie groups have protested or sued to prevent some of the thinning planned by the research group. And I don't know how much that group is looking at timber harvest as part of the solution (or even if they have been allowed to consider it part of the solution), given that any timber cutting in national forests is as politically incorrect as supporting the Boy Scouts these days.

"This is a huge problem. Unless you make the forests healthy, you're going to face this risk every summer.""Insert foot in mouth and begin eating crow" quipped one of the Governers aids. Guess that deciding to not run again has freed up valuable portions of his brain. Thanks for posting this DC2K!

I thought you would be interested in what our so-called Governor had to say. For once, he got it right!
