Fires force WND HQ evacuation: Uncontrolled Southern Oregon blaze threatens offices

Uncontrolled wildfires destroying tens of thousands of acres of pristine forestland in southern Oregon and threatening scores of homes, farms and ranches are now raging very close to WorldNetDaily's secluded corporate headquarters, forcing evacuation of all personnel and vital equipment.
The so-called "Florence" fire, ignited by lightning almost two weeks ago, has already consumed over 18,000 acres of tinder-dry forest and remains totally uncontained despite the efforts of 500 firefighters.
"Our primary concern right now is for the safety of our employees and their fight to save their own homes," said Joseph Farah, editor and chief executive officer of WorldNetDaily. "They have heroically pulled together to get our computers, data and valuable equipment out of harm's way. Even our company's mascot, a 3-year-old cocker mix, has been spirited away."
The news gathering for and the production of the website are not expected to be adversely affected by the fire. However, the administrative offices, including customer service lines, will be down until the danger is over and the fires are under control.
"We're asking our customers, our vendors and all those who have reason to call our corporate headquarters to be patient," said Farah. "There is little we can do in the face of this natural disaster hitting southern Oregon except pray."
WorldNetDaily has been hit with a series of calamities in recent weeks a major hacking effort that shut down the site's online store and a major Internet network outage in Northern California that shut down the site this week for more than seven hours.
"It seems like we've had more than our share of illness and misfortune befalling us for some time," said Farah. "But the good news is that we have managed, with God's blessing, to survive it all. And we will meet this challenge as well."

Up to now, those 17,000 other innocent people have been basically ignored by most Free Republic pingers and readers.Been with ya since the git go on this topic Dave. Keep up the good pings and posts.
This is one evil looking fire, and yes, I read it all in yesterday's 30 mile thread.
To: JohnHuang2; All
A later photo in the area where 17,000 Americans are high risk with the WND owners and staff!
To: BOBTHENAILER
Thanks, Bob. You realize that if the green jihadists burnt out people in Oregon or Colorado or Arizona, that is a loss for all Americans.
Too many conservatives have been lobotomized into believing that the greens are really good people. The evil people are the farmers, rancher, loggers and people living in those areas being rurally cleansed from these areas.
Right now 17,000 Americans could be Rurally Cleansed from the this remote area of Oregon, and most Americans could care less.

This website is provided as assistance to media outlets requiring statistical information related to the wildland fires in the states of Oregon and Washington. Active fire behavior, especially during period of increased wind conditions will cause increase burned acreage that may not reflect accurately " on the ground situation". Please note that the data and situation reports are based on formal incident summaries and situations reported locally may not yet be included or has not been validated for this summary. Evacuation questions should be directed to state or local Emergency Operation Centers (EOC) for verification. It is advised that media consult the data provided and then call the Information Desk for more specific, detailed information on the fire situation, It will be periodically updated by the Public Information staff at NWCC. That is 567 square miles. A whole lot of enviral rural cleansing going on in Oregon.
To: Grampa Dave
Foxnews had some very dramatic video of the whole mountainsides blazing and people evacuating!!
Been reading most everything you have been posting!

Bob the Nailer posted that FNC said that the two fires had merged.
I can't find that any place. I will have to break down and watch TV news. I don't even watch Fox any more.
This was a predictable disaster. I know that area and have been in and around it for 10+ years.
The envirals started their no road, no logging, no brush removal and other Druid Bravo Sierra in this area over 10 years ago. After the Clintoon became president, they bragged about keeping out everything and this tinder box became more of a tinder box every day, week, month, and year. This was their crown Druid Cathedral jewel in seized lands.
Carry Okie was kidding me a couple of weeks ago about this being my old stomping grounds. Well in the last 5 years a bull Elk would have problems stomping around there if he could get in.
Now I'm wondering if the elite enviral whackos kept the fire fighters from doing anything until about 5 days ago.
It will not surprise me if the elite Enviral Fascists were working behind the scenes to keep the fire fighters from doing anything in their Highest Druid Cathedral until all hell broke loose a couple days ago.
They had a lot of men there and nothing was being done that was being reported.
If these Psycho Elite Enviral Fascists and their governor kept the firefighters from using caterpillars and other fire stopping gear and techniques, they should be tried as criminals.

I think it is time that the GOP Majority Leaders in the House of Reps seriously conduct hearings into the fraudulent and deceitful politics of environmentalism.
Innocent citizens, their homes, their businesses, their hopes and dreams, their pets and livestock, their future, the wildlife, wildflowers, trees, streams and lakes our beloved land which we cherish are burning up and turning to ash in the name of a irrational environmentalism.

Grampa Dave, I care, and I live in Georgia. I suppose that being from a forest-rich state has something to do with it. I know western states are unique in that their forest cover is not uniform. For example, forest cover is kept to west of the Cascades, for the rain shadow on the leeward side prohibits forest growth. However, there is a small portion of forest in eastern Oregon.
I like the great outdoors, but I also value private property rights, viewing it as what makes America great. The eco-terrorists wish for no one to have private property rights and for everyone to be living in tight, clustered cities. The city of Portland, Oregon is one of the most regulated/zoned/planned cities in the country, as the city government, along with a large contingent of local citizens, has fallen to the environmentalist agenda. Portland is the only major metropolitan area that I know of that has an urban growth boundary, of which developers must pay a fine if they are to build outside the boundary. As all the available land fills in within the boundary, it is expanded.
In college, I studied a little urban planning, and most planners are not environmentalists, though there are environmental planners. Most are merely interested in cities, freeways, buildings, etc., and like to have a say in which the city develops. I also see a need for some planning, as zero zoning results in mostly unlivable conditions. I'm of the opinion that a private resident should be able to have his zoning changed upon his request granted that it is not totally extreme (heavy industry right beside a neighborhood).
Back to the forest, I think that it is very unfortunate. It's awfully suspicious. Over the past three years, the number of forest fires have exploded, engulfing Montana, Wyoming, New Mexico, Idaho and California two years ago, to today engulfing Oregon, California, Arizona, Colorado and Utah.
To: Grampa Dave
I hope Mannix is going to use the tragedy of these horrible fires to talk some common sense to the people of Oregon and put people back to work in the woods cutting trees.

forest cover is kept to west of the Cascades, for the rain shadow on the leeward side prohibits forest growth. However, there is a small portion of forest in eastern Oregon. Unfortunately, prior to the Biscuit/Florence outbreak, most of Oregon's major fires have been on the east/dry side. Eastern Oregon is 4K' and higher, so there is a lot of forest due to elevation - mainly aspen/pine/ juniper as you descend. The juniper rolls into the sage, which burns like a son of a bitch. The west side receives alot of year round rain. It is rare to get a severe fire on the coastal range. We've had low humid/high temps on the west side this summer & little rain. This combined with the build up of an incredible amount of fuel in the form of downed timber has created the SW Oregon CAT 5 hurricane fire.

Hope I didn't pull the trigger too soon.
In any event, this one is horrible and regrettably, far from over.
