Great post. I've always thought of Sajak as a bit of an airhead. No more.
A shame, with his "Hollywood" credentials, his thought will reach no farther than the school newspaper. An indictment of our media.

It's the same kind of nonsense that brings celebrities to "Save the Earth" benefits in eight-mile-per-gallon limos. Or that allows them to make a public service announcement urging recycling -- filmed at their 20,000 square foot homes. LOL.....thanks for posting this. Fair and balanced.....thats what it is!

Sajak has written for a variety of conservative journals, including NR. He's usually darned good.

"religion is rarely depicted as a natural part of life in the average sitcom or drama series, despite the fact that tens of millions of Americans say that it is important to them. "
Very true doncha know!

Pat and his wife are really nice people. I met them once at a Claremont Institute event hosted by Pat at his home (beautiful house by the way).

Wow, I never would have thunk it. Pretty insightful for a guy that sells vowels and spins multicolored wheels. He must be thinking he's made enough to retire on and can vent now. :^)

Thanks for the ping, Bryan. Wonderful article. Mr. Sajak is a courageous man.
This Hillsdale College link also contains a commencement speech from Mark Helprin, Defend Civilization Itself, so beautiful that we may have in this "little" school, Hillsdale College, the wisdom to save our nation someday ....that and the homeschoolers. (^:

Pat was the weatherman on WSM in Nashville when I was in High School.
He was very funny though as "Your Announcer" on the late-night weekend movie. I might be the only one who remembers him doing that (I'm sure the ratings were rather low). He would do the voice-overs for station previews and stuff, but he would do them in such a way that they were worth watching the bad movies for. One that I remember was him saying that "people have written in to ask if I do these live or on tape" and as he is explaining that, "of course, I do them live" the tape speeds up into incomprehensibility.

What a wonderful speech. I didn't remember that Sajak is such an unusually insightful, intelligent member of the Hollywood "elite." How refreshing to hear him speaking the truth, so eloquently and compassionately. Only wish a few more people could hear this.
Thanks for the ping, Bryan.

This sounds great--it is not an "Urban Legend" or a fake...is it? I saw the college website, but no picture. Is there anything else to prove Pat Sajak said this?
