Chris Ruddy's NewsMax, which I used to have some degree of trust in, given that he was so instrumental in exposing the truth about Vince Foster's murder, refuses to remove an advertisement it's carrying promoting a video by one Alex Jones, a conspiracy kook who claims, in excruciatingly unexamined, half-assed detail, that the U.S. government, and the "New World Order", were in fact behind the attacks of September 11. They ALLOWED Al-Qaida to do this, you see, so that they could institute global tyranny. Blah, blah, blah.

Now that they associate with this 'conspiracy' video that is critical of D.C. everything is bad? You miss the Tenets of this New Religion.
Thou shalt not critique a Republican, no matter if he is mass murdering little kids.
At best you're pretending Republicans have honor and integrity....

I meant to add that I've been a FReeper for over four years now (One ID change). This is home.

I've never listened to alex Jones, I was also shocked to see the ad on NewsMax' web site. But in defense of Ruddy & NewsMax I will say that Ruddy's done a lot of very good work regarding Vince Foster & Ron Brown's plane crash and on other issues too. That he allows Alex Jones a place on his web site that Alex surely pays for does not make me think bad of NewsMax at all. Ruddy is a far more honest journalist than most. Remember how so many journalists have covered things up for clinton, but Ruddy didn't do that.
After Waco, OK City bombing and other events my personal opinion is that we should be open minded as to Mr. Jones' theories. Mr. Jones is not yet 30 years old I believe. he's unconventional in that he leaps to conclusions, but that does not mean that he is of no value.

"God is allowing darkness to cover the earth in order to create a huge vaccuum"...If it bleeds, it leads"
Please Mr. Jim Jones don't try to re-write the Bible...

I do not think they DID do it... but I would not put it past them. They allowed the terrorists to walk into our country.
They failed to pursue leads concerning the terrorists (the Phoenix memo and Agent Rowley's memo)
They created a mindset of "don't resist" that allowed the terrorists to take control of the planes.
They banned Free men and women from bearing arms aboard planes, thus ensuring that terrorists would be able to hijack the aircraft.
I don't think the gov't planned the fine details, but they certainly created an environment where the terrorists could easily suceed. It's just like if the warden releases 100 felons from a prison. Does the warden know the details of when/where/how, and which felons will commit crimes? Of course not. But the warden does that crimes will invariably be committed.

You oddly didn't mention we're the least free we ever have been. Wonder why? How are you "less free"? I'm able to do everything I've always done.
But, I've never been one to look for boogeymen under my bed, either.

I suggest you do a little homework and find the article about the first WTC bombing written in the NY Times, Nov. 1993 by Ralph Blumenthal. His article describes an interesting situation concerning prior knowledge of a gov't. agency regarding the group responsible for the bombing.

I like this one a lot:
HOW THE RECENTLY DECLASSIFIED TOP-SECRET NORTHWOODS DOCUMENT WRITTEN BY THE JOINT CHIEFS OF STAFF LAID OUT PLANS TO BOMB WASHINGTON AND TO HIJACK AIRPLANES AS A PRETEXT FOR WAR Right. The Joint Chiefs wrote down their treasonous plans to bomb Washington, then allowed the documents to become declassified and available to the public. Right. Only in the ozone-layer inhabited by nut-cases, left and right wing.

LOL. 'Irrefutable facts'? A 40-year-old document of dubious authenticity that talks about invading Cuba?
Furthermore, I was not aware that the Airforce had standing orders to shoot down all commercial airliners that veered off course! OF COURSE it was a conspiracy, implicating the highest US military and civilian officials, and they WILL PAY for their crimes, just as soon as you and Jared Isreal expose them!
But of course it all makes perfect sense. Those former Soviet states are just ripe for the picking, and it is especially important to our military elites to weaken and destabilize Russia at this juncture in history, when they are already awash in corruption and economic woes, even at the risk of nuclear war. Yep, all makes perfect sense, in a looney sort of way.

Same with FR.
That's the stupidest remark I've heard so far today. NewsMax purports to publish news. FR is a site to discuss news. If you don't know the difference in function between the two sites, you need help.

NewsMax purports to publish news. The stuff eructated by NewsMax on a daily basis might arguably be called "news" by some, but I do know that it makes my roses grow strong and tall when I shovel it into their beds.

NewsMax is a JOKE! I have more faith in Art Bell. And the sad thing is, WorldNetDaily is worse.

Right. The Joint Chiefs wrote down their treasonous plans to bomb Washington, then allowed the documents to become declassified and available to the public. Right. Only in the ozone-layer inhabited by nut-cases, left and right wing. The Baltimore Sun reported this story as well: Click here

I don't need to see the film to know what is in it. They advertise it quite dramatically. The claims I see in the advertisement are *kook* friendly.
I used to think that Newsmax was a good website, but this has opened my eyes.
"911 THE ROAD TO TYRANNY DOCUMENTS THE RUTHLESS HISTORY OF GOVERNMENTS ORCHESTRATING TERRORIST ATTACKS AGAINST THEIR OWN PEOPLE TO SCARE THEM INTO TOTAL SUBMISSION."
These people are claiming our Govt was behind 9/11??? That sounds exactly like the sort of *kook* accusation you would hear about Bush at Democratic Underground.

Whatever floats your boat Baby.

Well said.
I think that everyone must have caught onto Newsmax and World Net Daily before I did. My eyes are open now.
This is not the kind of stuff sensible Conservatives want to be associatd with. These outfits have crossed the line, and imo, have lost their credibility.
