I am so worried about the marketMe, too. The economy is doing great, but that will stop if the market continues to crash.
And it's the Dems with their "Chicken Little" stories that are dooming the market. They'll do anything to gain power in Nov.
Any of us who are old enough to remember the carter admin. should be very afraid!

"My reason for telling you all is....please be aware that the other side never rests. It's pretty scary."
That is b/c the repubs are working and can't find time to go and get the vote out. We are busy paying taxes for the programs and of course the cost of living raise.
Would you believe--congress allows a 4% cost of living raise yet social security recipients get 2% (at least that what I read somewhere--am I wrong or right?)
Any body outraged at both the parties--they now earn $150000 per year and they take off August vaction!!!!

Oh ladies, I saw in InStyle magazine a website where you can purchase Bushwear. They showed a belt buckle that said, EVIL DOERS. Apparently the site has items that all have Bush sayings on them. The site is, Bushwear.com.

Did you see Wolf Blitzer? He was wearing a suede jacket in August in Crawford. Sooooo chic?

You people should complain! You're tired from golf, swimming, baby sitting and so on.
I'm exhausted from seeing a movie this afternoon. It totally interfered with my nap time, plus it was three hours long, including previews and commercials.
Plus, it was very disappointing I thought. I love sci fi and I thought Minority Report would be really good. It wasn't ... it was confusing, a bit corny and way too long.
Oh, well.
Thanx for the pics, rintense. They always perk one up.

Well, it did work last year, if memory serves me right, his number hit bottom in mid-August. I wouldn't be worried if markets weren't that bad, and you know what? He's economic team is too weak to provide any calm to the market, I hope O'Neil is the first one in the administration to go, there are lots of frustration with him on Wall Street, I usually defend President Bush's men, but I can't bring myself to disagree with those criticize O'Neil.

I kinda disagree with you, null.
He needs some time off and he needs the emotional refreshing he always gets from time on the ranch.
I don't really remember what Clinton did when Congress was in recess in the way of vacation because I always tried to avoid anything about him. He was kind of mentally ill and had to have stimulation at all times; like calling people up in the middle of the night, so time off may just not have appealed to him.
But Bush is a normal guy, thank goodness, I think we need him rested and relaxed. If the press doesn't like it, too bad.

I changed my mind about O'Neil after he took the trip to Africa with Bono. He was very clear in explaining how the money we send is mis-used. Even Bono got the drift.
This guy knows how our aid should be distributed, and he knows how to track it. That's a first. I see him as the best hope Africa has had in a long time.

Lets pray all that the dear lord will allow the market to rally--that he will make those stocks looks soooo good that no one would want to say no to them. Kidding aside, this is where communal prayers are needed.

Susan Estrogen is clueless. This morning on MTP Dick Grasso unequivocally told Russert that we can hardly expect one presidential speech to fix the market. This was after Russert implied Bush had fallen down on the job since his speech didn't inspire an instant Wall Street rally. The press needs to be smacked.

His numbers may have be bottom .. but they were also higher then Clinton's was at that time (7 months in office) .. if I recall Bush's numbers were somewhere around 60%
And I can't totally disagree about O'Neil but I also think alot of what is happening on Wall Street is all emotions
Most don't know what shoe is going to drop next and with Congress yapping and playing games just to gets votes is NOT helping
With all that said .. if some are smart and play their cards right .. there are going to a few good buys out there
The market will come back .. it always does .. we just need to ride out the storm

I'm praying my hardest -- I'm hoping that the pundits are correct and the market will begin to recover between August 14 (CEO reverification day) and Labor Day. We must be strong this next week -- the market will probably be wicked!
Now, really, I'm going to bed!!

I've absolutely no problem with him going to Crawford in August, it's people's perception of him that worries me. The markets are tanking badly, trillions of dollars are being wiped out, people are losing their savings, I just don't think it's a good idea to leave town for a month, the market won't go up just because he's DC, but it sure wouldn't hurt.

I don't really remember what Clinton did when Congress was in recess in the way of vacation because I always tried to avoid anything about him.He always went to his rich friends' houses in Nantucket, except for one year when the polls told him that he would get more "points" for going to another rich friend's house in Wyoming.
That cost us a lot, because each house had to be secured. W has one house (well, two, if you count Kennebunkport) that have alreay been secured.

The old bag will think she's died and gone to Hell! August in Central Texas is hot as hell! Good news. Our moderate temperatures are over. We are heating things up for Helen. Hope to have a nice melted asphalt parking lot in Crawford where she can park her lawn chair. I don't do heat, but if I did I'd go out there and take pictures for all of us.
