I watched, and Donahue slandered Ms Coulter. For some reason Phil was facinated by a David Brock claim that Ann played the Tripp tapes at a cocktail party. He's so pathetic he didn't know he was proving the point of her book.

Ann was on target and Phil was......... well, confused? Disjointed? I give that show 6 months, tops.

Thanks very much for posting this. I avoid Donahue, but this was great. Ann kicked his a$$. There are several guffaws in reading this transcript. Ann was at her best?---To paraphrase a few high points.

I am sure you read Brock's book.
---No, and I don't know anyone who did.

He says you're an anti-semite.
---Maybe that will help me with the muslims.

And you say liberals hate all religion except Islam.
---Well they only like Islam since 9/11.---In fact, liberals do go crazy at every mention of God, certainly in a public school. Including voluntary prayers at football game. But I note that they have a very heightened interest that the terrorists at Guantanamo be free to practice their religion.

Man, Coulter is so quick and so sharp.

The line you qouted was the best one, but I also liked this little quip:

DONAHUE: Let me just tell you. He accuses you, among other things, of being an anti-Semite.
COULTER: Maybe that will help me with the Muslims.

And this exhange:

DONAHUE: He says that you left New York because you wanted to get away from all these Jews. Did you say that?
COULTER: I find this very interesting, that I write a book saying liberals won’t argue about things, instead what they do is call conservatives names. And I come on your show and all you’re doing is calling me names.
DONAHUE: No, I’m not calling you. I’m saying that this is...
COULTER: Right, you’re quoting other people who called me names.

And finally:

COULTER: I call a lot of people a lot of things.
DONAHUE: So you’re a name caller yourself. You acknowledge that.
COULTER: I don’t have any problem with invective. The title of my book is “Slander,” not “Invective.” When I call somebody a name, I assure you, it’s true.

Phil sounded like he was using the usual liberal tactics of lying, misrepresenting, trying to make the other person get off the track, and trying to get them angry.
