Update from OC Sheriff... Press conference..

Playing 911 tape of the people that found the body, male caller was extremely upset, and scared, he was crying, and telling 911 the location but the cell phone transmission was breaking up and was disconnected.

They called the telephone number he left before the disconnect and they called his home and got a messege machine. He called back within minutes and made contact again with 911 and was almost hysterical and crying saying it was little girl and was very distraught,

When Cell caller got home he called again from home phone and recontacted 911, 911 said they would pick him up and the he could show him where the body was.

Press conference continues, stating over 2000 citizens have given leads......

"Incredibly"? No. Those who think this was are simply harboring inner guilt ("Why did I allow her to play outside so far from the apartment?")

If you had grief the size of an ocean, and added a single cupful to it, theoretically it's "larger" but not so's anyone would notice.

I'll take the word of those of you who have followed the Van Damme case more closely than I have. I hope all these cases get resolved beyond a reasonable doubt though.

I never saw anywhere west of the Blue Ridge (eastermost ridge of the Appalachians) where I would want to live. Fun to visit sometimes though.

To each to his/her own, hehehe. And I have been to that area some years back. It's very nice. But I am just a west coast guy. west coast meaning Cal, Oregon, and Washington.

In any event, I am sure that this news conference at 6 PM PST will offer some substantial evidence. And I am pretty sure they have the correct individual/suspect.

I sincerely hope so. And if this is the case, our law enforcement and citizens did a great job in expediting this animals demise....

Language can and is IMPRECISE. The drafting of laws should aspire to use as precise as possible language in definitions. Defining what is and isn't pornography requires INTERPRETATION which is in of itself an imprecise measuring tool. I know for a fact, I am subjective and therefore Its likely a good thing that I don't have this sort of job. I'm not that fond of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliette or Paul Reubens' Cherubs.

Most importantly, drafting laws should never be done under the pressure of emotionalism or media induced public panic.

This is a topo map of the area where Samantha's body was found. The blue line indicates 1 mile into (going east) on Killen Trail Rd. off the Ortega Highway.

To correct some other info, there are no Ortega Mtns in this area, the local mountains are Elsinore mountain as shown on the map. Turnout from video appears to be on north side of Killen Trail Rd. Decker Canyon is just to the south of this area.

And this is entire are is called the Cleveland National Forest and is part of the Santa Ana mountains.

Yep, a lot of folks are very angry. I took a group of neighbor kids to the command center yesterday. They had all made cards for the police men saying thank you and we're praying for you. We also took a cooler full of water and sodas. They were appreciative. Just for the record,
the site of this kidnapping is 60 or so yards from a major intersection. The command center, which is directly across the street from the apartments, sits in the corner of a large shopping center that includes restauraunts and Sams Club. Some parts of Stanton are kind of creepy. But this particular part is very nice, clean area, surrounded by single family housing. I host the "National Night Out" event in my neighborhood every year for my local police deparment which will be 8-6. I have requested that they
be prepared to discuss child safety issues with us this year.

Perhaps the civil courts, by wrongful death lawsuits, will create enough legal precedent to address the problem of harmful publication. sigh...

Avila's mother said her son had been on his cell phone at about the time Samantha was abducted Monday night, and that he had told her he was at a shopping mall in Ontario, San Bernardino County, about 40 miles from Lake Elsinore and about 25 miles from the girl's home in the Orange County city of Stanton.

If he's the one and she's lying for him, burn her too.****

No.

Why the hell not?

There are two reasons, in my opinion;

1.) We don't live in a filthy vermin infested backwater moslem country under shar'iah law.

Maybe. Cell phones will sometimes access a cell site in another location from the mountains if there are no local cell sites in the mountain area.. This is why airlines don't want you talking from aircraft while flying. I've done this walk hiking in the San Bernardino Mtns. With no cell coverage I can still access the cell sites below in Hesperia or Palm Springs on the other side of the mountain range.
