ITHACA -- About 130 local residents gathered Thursday for a candid and sometimes heated discussion about racism and a recently reported bias-related assault in Ithaca.
Of central concern to those who attended the Thursday night meeting at the Southside Community Center remained an Ithaca City Court decision that released three defendants without bail.

This would almost be funny if it weren't for the glaring hypocrisy. Roberts is a handicapped gay guy and a liberal activist. You can be sure that if the tables were turned, he would be screaming bloody murder if a black defendant were being held without bail!
Halton said that as a white American, she had been conditioned to have racist views.
"There is no way to grow up white, and not be racist, that doesn't happen," she said.
City of Evil.
Roberts "was outraged that Kevin and Tonya Swansbrough and Tori Monroe [the defendants who have been convicted of no crime and benefit from the presumption of innocence] were out walking the streets."
"All I can do is pay attention to the racism when it comes up and say -- God, is this what I've learned living in this country," Halton said.
No. Thats what you learned living in Ithaca.
A subtle call for reprisals?
So shouldn't she be in counseling trying to work out her "racist views" in private instead of beating her (probably top free) breasts in public about it? Talk about "liberal guilt".
Tompkins County Probation Director Kathryn L. Leinthall said she did not believe her department treated African-Americans unfairly, but added that she would review records to determine if a bias exists.
In other words, let's waste more taxpayer dollars to conduct a "study."
Here's a novel suggestion: why just get rid of these stupid liberal "alternative to incarceration" progams totally and TREAT EVERYONE EQUALLY?
Yeah, right.
By the way, in case anyone is wondering Leinthall doesn't even LIVE in Tompkins County. She is, however, a known lesbian and, therefore, most likely, a "quota" hiree.
[Police Chief] Signer said people who have concerns that the system is discriminatory should join it and try to reform it from the inside. "Because my presence makes a difference and these officers make a difference," Signer said, referring to the officers of color in the room.
Like Leinthall, Signer is, as noted previously, a product of affirmative action. She was hired simply because they wanted a woman.
Residents also voiced concern about racial profiling in Ithaca. They repeatedly said if the victim of the July 8 assault had been white -- and her attackers black -- police and the judiciary system would have responded differently. Many said they felt the defendants would still be in jail. Others said they thought if they had been black, the defendants would have been lynched.
Of all the disgusting things I have ever seen or heard the sick, twisted liberals of Ithaca say, this may take the cake.
What do these lying idiots think? That there has never been a case of black on white crime in Ithaca? Not a mugging? Not an assault? Obviously there are such crimes. And there haven't been any "lynchings."
Jeez. Grow up and move on people. The Jim Crow days are over.
For all the barf alert warnings we have here at FR this time I actually feel--and I am not making this up-- like I might really do so.
If anyone, anyone, here ever again wonders why "Ithaca is the City of Evil." I refer them to this thread.

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)
OOOOOOH, Kathleen Halton said that? Well, she does speak for White America, let me get out my wallet...
Oh, wait, I'm not white.
Not really. They're just working themselves into a lather over the only thing that's still a crime in the City of Evil - the only real crime in Ithaca is the offense of thoughtcrime. And they've stumbled upon some folks who appear to be thoughtcriminals...
Maybe not, but if you're a conservative, you will be accused of being "white" on the inside. "Oreo," "coconut," or "apple" are the descriptives used for such folks (i.e, one color on the outside, and white on the inside).
The problem is that: (a) we send our children there as college students for indoctrination and return to our world; (b) the city keeps expanding its influence into the rest of the Finger Lakes.
Also, its important to remember one of the main reasons why we post so many stories about "the City of Evil": THIS is a microccosm of what will happen to America if we let "them" win.
We can't be complacent and must keep fighting because otherwise the whole country could become one big Ithaca.
Easily solved. Don't send your kids there. And remember my proposal to make it a gated community (the wall with razor wire); that ought to mitigate the influence expansion.

Well, maybe. I'm from central Pennsylvania, and I just don't see it happening that way here no matter who says so. After all, no less a pundit than James Carvile (yes, it's mispelled, and yes, I meant it that way) called PA Pittsburgh and Philadelphia separated by Alabama. That he didn't mean it as a compliment doesn't keep us from taking it as one.
We can't be complacent and must keep fighting because otherwise the whole country could become one big Ithaca.
I agree about fighting the good fight, but rather than one big Ithaca I think you'd see the breakup of the country itself.
