President Bush and First Lady Laura welcome Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski and his wife, Jolanta, to only the second State visit since Bush was sworn in. Bush and his colleague also answered a round of questions from reporters, including more questions to the President regarding his tenure at Harkin oil. The President and his guests attended the State dinner this evening. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Well the dress itself is lovely .. but the bow has got to go
There must be a reason why she wore it .. I just can't think of one ..

and the gold dress would be gorgeous without that hideous bow. What was she thinking? I'm so glad that someone mentioned that awful bow! Her designer should be smacked upside the head for that one!
And the other First Lady is indeed attractive, but there are none so fair as our Lovely Laura!

That is a very good photo of the President, I agree. He seems to take a lot of them. Nor will I argue about him being handsome!!!! AND I HATE THE PRESS AND MEDIA TOO!!!!

The glass he had tonight looked like water. Or it was the palest white wine I ever saw.

I am a bit ignorant on all things pertaining to dogs, except that they are cute, please correct me if this is incorrect. I thought a dog would raise his leg as a sort of way to mark his territory. Is that right? If I were Barney I wouldn't claim any of the Democrats as "my" territory. His effluence is too good for the likes of them.

The blue sash and bow were NOT successful. They made the dress seem frumpy, and the color had nothing to do with the rest of the ensemble.
I think she needs new designers. When Miss Marple can think of things to improve clothes (v-necks, coral colors, shoulder pads, slimmer skirts, etc.) it is time to begin shopping around.
I think Laura should consider that some designers may secretly be in the anti-Bush camp.

Don't know what is in that glass except to say it is non alcholic. He doesn't touch it anymore at all.

That makes a few of us that don't like the bow. Otherwise, the gown is lovely.
TO tell you the truth, I didn't even notice the bow/belt. But remember, I am a Buck. Now that I see it, however, I'd have to vote 'no' too. Sorry Laura
To: hoosierpearl
hoosier, I am a dog show handler and yes dogs do lift their legs to mark territory especially if there is a female in season around. But they also lift their legs strickly to pee!!!!! Barney would not be marking territory on a Democrat, he is a Republican doggie.

Good, we are all agreed on the belt, lol. I thought possibly I was out of the loop when it comes to designer clothes. Mr. Mc would not be amused if I came home with a designer frock, so I know little about them.

I've been looking at that blasted bow and do you think it could be some award or something the couple from Poland gave her? She is just too "with it" to wear something like that unless it is for a darned good reason. And to be gracious to someone or not wanting to hurt someone's feelings would be a good reason. Ya think?

Kath, I should ask one more question then. Do dogs ever lift their legs as an insult or a put down? I still think Barney's pee is too good for a Democrat though. As you say, he is a Republican doggie.

But he would be amused if you came home with JUST the tourqoise bow. Wink, wink!
To: McLynnan
I agree, but the Polish President keeps reminding me of my used car salesman. My apologies to Poland and all that.

I am hardly a fashion maven, but I know bad when I see it.....and that blue belt is bad! And how about some lower necklines, like the one she wore at the media dinner (I think)? She looked so sexy and beautiful in that dress!
btw, I read somewhere that you can tell alot about a woman by the shoes she wears. If that's the case, everyone can tell that I'm cheap and like to be comfortable! :o)

I'm thinking there must be a reason also
Laura always looks lovely even when she wears her hanging around the house cloths
There has got to be a reason for that bow

Yes, dogs deliberately pee on other dogs to show their superiority. Especially when there's a new dog in the neighborhood. I've seen it happen. So Barney would be absolutely right to "mark" Daschle.
