A Bush Hater's Poll
Jim Robinson

Posted on 07/10/2002 11:27:06 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

This is an unofficial quick and dirty presidential poll. Apparently, there is a good sized contingent on Free Republic that believes that President Bush is:

  1. Not conservative enough
  2. Not pro-life
  3. Is a gun-grabber
  4. Is a federal power-grabber
  5. Will appoint liberal judges
  6. Is a globalist
  7. Is in it just for oil
  8. Is too soft on immigration
  9. Is too soft (or too hard) on Israel
  10. Is a crook
  11. All of the above
  12. None of the above
  13. Other (you name it)

Please list the numbers that best match the reasons you don't like Bush (or state other reasons if not on the list) and state whether you believe that President Bush should be defeated even if it means installing a Democrat in the Whitehouse.

Conversely, if you believe President Bush should be re-elected, please state why.

Please state who you would like to see win the Presidency in 2004 and whether or not you believe he/she has a chance of winning.

Thanks,
Jim

There have been more attacks, the shootings at LAX were an attack. I see a huge threat, just a weak response. We should have followed any escaping AlQueda members into wherever they went. If the Pakistanis didn't like it, name them as an enemy. C'mon, you see no similarities between what the N. Vietnamese did and how these guys operate? They both take cover over the borders safely, hide amongst the populace, and wait in ambush. We cannot make the same mistake of limiting the scope of our war. We should be ejecting all visitors(not citizens) from Islam dominated countries, let them back in after they have applied and pass rigorous screening, but get them out now. That would make the FBIs job simpler, and eliminate more than a few that want us dead. Tell the Israelis to do as they see fit, quit pulling on their choke chain, and pressure the Saudis to quicken a move to Democracy. I think those are three common sense approaches that should be instituted. The first job of the military, is to secure our borders, then they can go out head hunting. I just see what looks like a giant, swatting at flies.

Wow. What an amazing gift to be able to identify the racists. Does this involve chicken entrails? Or just heavily subjective personal opinion?

Well, no wonder I am not in the stock market!
Seriously, the left is saying the economy is dumping, not me! The point is they are doing this purposely to bring down the President. The more they bring up the corruption of big business, the more the market falls!
They are making the investors lose confidence in the market by harping on this constantly, and I think it is by design!

The INS was so corrupt and mismanaged under Clinton ... we don't really know where everybody is. We've got millions of unaccountable guests wandering our streets in secrecy. We can't find our damn "Americorps" volunteers, and we've been paying them for six years. LOL It's being addressed, but it's frustrating ... the INS needs a powerful relational data base, and the procurement and contracting regs are so burdensome that they projected a completed project in late 2003! Send a crew of studs from Oracle or ACS and they'll have a platform up and running by Labor Day THIS YEAR.

We're doing well. Stuff's being fixed. The death of Saddam Huessein is on the menu. I have a bottle of Dom Perignon that I'm going to uncork when Yassir Arafat dies or the Packers win the Super Bowl, whichever comes first! We may see the worst men on Earth ... the Saudi Royal Family ... hung from lamposts in our time. I'd go out to the street and dance and jibba jabba like the Palestinians if I observed that event.

We're taking care of bidness best we can. We need to understand that elitists in Saudi Arabia and Egypt are directing and financing our enemies. Let's call the turds "turds" if they're turds. The War is on. Rumsfield works 70 hours a week.

I am in agreement with the points made by Pariah in post #38.

I think President Bush is a man of integrity who is forced to play politics around several issues that go against what he would prefer. I just wish he would take advantage of his 74% approval rating and take a stronger stand against the liberals. CFR was a mistake; he is way too soft on immigration and illegal immigrants; and he needs to learn how to use his veto powers!! -- i.e., the senates pork-filled budget! The Rats goal is to increase the deficit as much as possible so they can blame Bush -- a veto is definitely in order. I would also like to see him make more judicial appointments while Congress is in recess.

I will definitely vote for Bush in 2004 and believe he has a strong chance of winning.

lady, be in the stock market but invest in local companies or in businesses that provide services or goods that you choose to buy.

Bell South. Coca Cola. Target Stores. Philip Morris. P&G. Boise Cascade. Revlon. Kroger. Ford. Wallgreens. Ebay. Dell. If you have it in your cupboard or in your house, or if you can IMMEDIATELY drive to its location you know about the company.

>> Not conservative enough <<

Could be better, but passed the theshold for now.

>> Not pro-life <<

See above.

>> Is a gun-grabber <<

No.

>> Is a federal power-grabber <<

Our Libertarian freepers claim that about anyone with an "R" next to his name. Our Dixiecrats claim it too, although they totally support power-grabbers in their STATE governments

>> Will appoint liberal judges <<

So far most of his judges have been conservative, although he could do a better job pushing to get them confirmed. He might ACCIDENTIALLY appoint a RINO judge (I can see repeating the Souter mistake by naming a hispanic judge that Sununu Jr. recommends), but not likely.

>> Is a globalist <<

Favor phrase of the Buchanan brigagers. Rhetoric.

>> Is in it just for oil <<

Any "freeper" attacking Bush on this issue is probably a liberal disruptor.

>> Is too soft on immigration <<

YES.

>> Is too soft (or too hard) on Israel <<

Had some concerns he was too soft on the PALESTIANS, but then he exposed Arafat as the terrorist that he is. I'm satified.

>> Is a crook <<

Compared to most politicians, no.

>> Other (you name it) <<

A favorite accusation by the Dixiecrats is that Bush is a dmanyankee transplant out to "destroy" their "hertiage" because he likes different historical figures than they do. Of course, if they applied this same standard to Ronald Reagan, he'd be evil "marxist revisionist yankee" according to them (yet they claim they voted for him!)

The Dow and Nasdaq composites are down. That's not the economy.

Yes they are down and it is the economy. But why are they down? Once again from the lack of oversight from the previous administration and the tone that was set that you can be corrupt and get away with it. That greed was a good thing, just don't be a conservative republican business man/woman.

We were constantly indoctrinated and told every day that the economy was good and that was the only thing that mattered. All based on fraud and lies. And every effort was used to get the attention off of the real problems of military secrets sold to the highest bidder, campaign fundraising taking the full attention away from every terrorist hit starting from '93.

There are 401K fund managers that should be put in prison. That was the fuel of 90s speculative frenzy ... all that 401K loot that the 50 year old Baby Boomers were throwing at the market through their employers. A guy at Fidelity whose fund held IBM, Coke, Medtronic, 3M, J&J, Phillip Morris, Busch and Kroger was making 15% annual gains. SWEET! The 28 year old "Dotcom" kid had JDSU, Cisco, Razorfish, Juniper, Yahoo, Qualcomm and Akamai in his fund and he was making 200% annual gains! The 45 year old pro made $200,000 for his fund performance. The 28 year old made $1,500,000 for HIS! So, everybody started loading up with EMC, Oracle, Dell, Amazon etc ... our neighbors EXPECTED a 50% return on their money. 70% of the public invested in the markets in 1998 had never LOST money on a stock issue!! We're off the see the Wizard!

That sums it all up very nicely. No matter who becomes the president, he will either attempt govern the country within the range of political realities or he will not govern at all. If we want to effect political change in this country, we just can't ignore the need to build public and political support for the change. There is no magical shortcut. If Ron Paul (or Pat Buchanan or Alan Keyes or anyone) were to somehow wake up tomorrow as president (and everything else was unchanged), he would either begin governing differently than he now speaks or he wouldn't begin governing at all.

So let's elect ourselves some better representatives this November!

BRAVO!!!!

APPLAUSE!!!!

STANDING OVATION!!!!

This cannot be forgotten. There is too much at stake. President Gore....shiver.

As they say sounds to good to be true. As far as those 401k managers go, if they did wrong they should be next to feel the heat, so to speak.

8. Is too soft on immigration So far he is the first President in my life to propose and enact restrictions, and yet nobody gives him credit. The all or nothing crowd wants him "necklaced" for "supposedly" thinking of amnesty (A NYT's divide and Conquer plot)

With complete sincerity, I can state that I do not work for the NYT.

With as much sincerity, I can tell you that you are mistaken about President Bush's attempted Amnesty, and that you should read this.

The best man in the 2000 election didn't end up as President. He ended up as Vice-President. Too bad image is more important than ability in this day. Bush was second. I will vote Bush in 2004 no matter how much I grumble in the meantime, unless he goes completely wacko.
