A Bush Hater's Poll
Jim Robinson

Posted on 07/10/2002 11:27:06 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

This is an unofficial quick and dirty presidential poll. Apparently, there is a good sized contingent on Free Republic that believes that President Bush is:

  1. Not conservative enough
  2. Not pro-life
  3. Is a gun-grabber
  4. Is a federal power-grabber
  5. Will appoint liberal judges
  6. Is a globalist
  7. Is in it just for oil
  8. Is too soft on immigration
  9. Is too soft (or too hard) on Israel
  10. Is a crook
  11. All of the above
  12. None of the above
  13. Other (you name it)

Please list the numbers that best match the reasons you don't like Bush (or state other reasons if not on the list) and state whether you believe that President Bush should be defeated even if it means installing a Democrat in the Whitehouse.

Conversely, if you believe President Bush should be re-elected, please state why.

Please state who you would like to see win the Presidency in 2004 and whether or not you believe he/she has a chance of winning.

Thanks,
Jim

If you look at the history of the GOP, it is we who belong in it, not liberals of your genre.

Once again, RINOs imagine history to be something it is not, and try to kick the landowners off the land.

Sorry, friend, but you and the RINOs are the squatters.

Feel free to leave yourself and let us restore our conservative party to its former greatness.

You are right.

Those who brush away the one-world government, globalist agenda, are those who obviously do not read the Bible.

This is going to happen whether we like it or not, but we still have the option to fight it.

Thank you for this post. This is exactly how I feel - Bush is not as conservative as I am, but he is conservative. I could not get elected president in this country if I stated what I really feel-people would get nervous being told the unvarnished truth. So Bush puts a little varnish on his message ("compassionate" conservative) and is elected.

But the judiciary is where the real battle is at the moment. We need conservative, strict constructionist judges and justices who will rule on what the Constitution really means - not get involved with right-wing activism.

WELLLL,

I LIKE George W Bush--and a LOT more so than his father.

So maybe I shouldn't respond.

I do have concerns about his wittingly or unwittingly supporting globalist goals. But I see no one more conservative who would have a chance to lead our country during a very hazardous time. But I don't dislike him so I don't even think I should list a #6.

So, I choose to put my support behind Bush and pray for him a LOT.

I believe he would put rather conservative people in the Supreme Court and other judgeships. I believe he's basically pro-life. I believe he's got a trainload more integrity than a lot of characters in Washington. That may not be saying much but compared to what we've had, he's a hurricane of fresh air. I believe he supports individuals being armed [i.e. with their own PRIVATE guns]. I believe he's not all that keen on big government or huge corporate monopolies.

I've heard/read plenty of the Skull and whatever initiation with him supposedly naked in a stone coffin reciting a satanic ceremony ritual. What do I know. If true, I suspect he's recanted since then.

I'm a lot happier trusting God has more leeway using GW for good than a LOOOONNNNG list of other possibilities who wouldn't have much chance to be in the position anyway--and certainly than say the next 50-100 democruds grasping for the office.

Not sure why you asked this Jim.

Were I in your shoes with what I read of your preferences and sensibilities . . . hmmm . . . .guess I'd on principle prefer to have a reasonably responsible free exchange of ideas, "evidence" and info on the subject. But I wouldn't be very happy with wholesale off the wall blackwashing. And given the realties of our political system, anyone trumping up a third party candidate would be looked at quite askance--says someone who voted for Perot. I felt the conservative alternate to Perot would not get in anyway and I wanted to send a protest vote, I guess.

But I'd be very unhappy if such a move dumped GW and allowed another BILLDO and SHRILLERY team to get in there. I'd consider that treasonous voting, I think.

THANKS TONS FOR THIS SITE, JIM. God's richest relationship and other rewards to you and yours.

#1 - He is throwing our money around like a drunk sailor. When I voted for him I thought he would be more fiscally conservative. I was wrong. He is acting like a tax and spend liberal.

#8 - My biggest disappointment with Bush is that his non-policy on illegal immigration is quickly turning California into a third world clone. He's not doing anything different in this area than Bubba did. He is joined at the hip with Vicente Fox, and this makes me very suspicious and angry at him.

Just read in this morning's paper that if a L.A. bond issue passes, taxpayers who own homes will have the pleasure of building many new schools for illegal aliens and the children of illegal aliens (the ones who are crowding our existing schools). I figure this will cost me at least $250 more per year in property taxes, which are already sky-high. Vote it down you say? Probably won't happen because now the takers outnumber the givers, and the takers always vote for bond measures.

Do I like Bush? Not really. I thought I voted for a conservative, and he disappoints me. No, I don't want Daschle, I don't want Hillary, I don't want Edwards, etc. I'm tired of voting for the lesser of two evils, and may not even vote next time, I'm that disgusted.

I think a racist would wish to "repatriate" all non-whites, or, at minimum, deport all naturalized aliens.

No one here is calling for anything like that.

I don't even know if most here would seriously expect a mass-deportation of illegal aliens.

However, it seems prudent to me that particularly at a time of such national peril, we should get the border situation under control by whatever means we have available to us. I also question the wisdom of the desire for amnesty for illegals (keep in mind that the Egyptian LAX shooter was a 245i benefactor).

I really don't think that concern about the illegal immigration has any more to do with racism than Michael Jackson's record contract does.

But, again, I support the President, despite my disagreement with him on this issue. He's doing a lot of other things right.

Excellent, thanks.

I should do another Keuhnnelt-Leddihn thread from "LEFTISM" on Literacy. He nails it.

Just received my copy of "Liberty & Equality" all the way from Holland. (This means I can finish the last few pages of LEFTISM I've been saving ... =) A good time to take my leave and study in peace for a while.

Best regards.

Oh, forgot. Didn't vote for Bush or Gore, don't care if he gets reelected or not, but won't vote for him based on record so far. Vote Libertarian. Would like republicans (or what passes for them these days) to take control of senate, lose control of house...Republicans are better as a minority party.

Arnefufkin, Shame on you for that post. Caddie wasn't personally attacking you, infact stated reasons for their complaints. (of which I agreed with ta boot)

That also being said. A) I voted for Bush so I am one of the "49 Million", And never will blindly support any man or party when it goes against the Constitution.

That being said, I did not vote for Clinton either, But you can be dang sure I was on the front lines questioning his "policy's", I assume you never questioned Clinton because after all you didn't vote for him? LOL that's a ridicules statement.

What is your action plan?

By the way, your claim that I go elsewhere on the web and 'b*tch' about FR is false.

In fact, I brag about Free Republic wherever I go...it is exactly as advertised: "the premiere Conservative site on the web'.

May it ever be so.

Nope, didn't say that. I don't think he is a genius, but he's not a fool. He goes about imposing his incremental tyranny very effectively. You could say that he is the chef in charge of heating up the water so slowly you frogs don't know your being boiled alive.
