President Bush pitched his proposed cabinet-level of homeland security today to federal workers gathered at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington today. Bush took the opportunity to thank federal workers for their hard work, especially after September 11th. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

A while back I saw a story that Republicans were deliberately trying to stay off some shows because of the bias and unfair attacks when they did show up. If I remember correctly, the main one they were boycotting were CNN shows. This was many months ago. Does anyone else remember that?

Every last one of them missed.LOL! For that sorry joke, your punishment is to go clean a bathroom and give your maid a break!

One thing I see in the dems is absolute, abject terror as we approach November. Besides W and Dick having the strength of incumbency, the dems know that we are going to be facing the one-year anniversary of September 11 just two months before election day, which is going to make it really difficult for the dumbed-down electorate to forget what Bush et al have done for this country. Barring another disastrous terrorist attack on this nation, I think the dems know they are toast.
I'm not putting much coinage into the sticking power of these attacks at this point. God honors men who walk in integrity and He surely has been doing that for this administration.
What really peeves me is how the dems can love power more than they care for our lives, and love (crave) personally being in control of (or obstructing) things more than love what is good for America.

Fred Barnes said that he didn't think this would really affect individual races, because most people don't vote on senate and house races based on an issue like this. He also thinks this issue will be gone by the weekend. (Hoping he is right.)

I like your point about the August vacations. These people will not be in Washington all summer to blather on.
Also, the President did a smackdown on the Senate right when they came back to town, that there were many things that needed to be done and they had let things pile up. That could be perceived by the RATS as an attack, and people do respond to things like that. But, even if he had not said that, they would have done this anyway, for the 2002 elections.
I believe he needed to say what he said, he needed to say the ball was in their court.

I will miss all of you, too. This is my first time away from a PC since the Dose entered the world. Wonder how I'll do?
Are there any survivor reports out there?

Well, I promise when I come back to make up for lost time!

Would you mind telling me via FReepmail, what you bought from Atkins that worked so well? Whatever it is, I need some of that! Thanks.
And with that, I'm heading to bed. Godspeed.

GREAT NEWS!
I just posted the results from the most recent CBS News/New York Times poll (taken Monday and Tuesday -- July 8 and 9). Despite both the relentless criticism of the RATS/media and the horrible performance of the stock market, the President's approval ratings actually INCREASED over June!!
Additionally, Fred Barnes predicted tonight on FOX News that the current political hysteria will mostly subside on Friday when Congress passes and President Bush signs a version of the Sorbanes (sic?) bill.
Regardless of positive polls and political predictions, however, we must intelligently and RELENTLESSLY respond to RAT/media attacks. My sisters and I made numerous calls today informing Daschle, Gebhardt, McCain, Leahy, et al, that they need to work WITH the President to both calm the financial markets and win this war on terrorism -- petty partisan posturing (I like alliteration!) will only cost them votes in November and 2004! [NOTE: We never identify ourselves as Republicans; instead, we describe ourselves as common sense voters, grounded Midwesterners, independents or concerned Americans (such descriptors have the virtue of being both true and persuasive)]! Again, if you need telephone numbers let me know. ALSO, I have the direct phone numbers of two top USATODAY editors -- if you want them, please e-mail me!!

You know, we (Repubs/conservatives) are our own worst enemies. We say, "don't trust anything you read in the papers", yet tonight I made the mistake of catching some other FR articles, and there is one about US 'backing off" on the immunity for peacekeepers.
Immediately, the whiner bunch started saying that "Bush is a wuss" and "told you he was like his father", etc. Why do these people panic? I just told them they were a bunch of whiners, and that this Criminal Court would not happen on Bush's watch. Remember Bush's favorite phrase - BE PATIENT.
Dems know that conservatives do not have the stomach for politics, that instead of hitting the libs with everything we have, we instead turn on GW at the drop of a hat. I love Dubya, but he can't do it all. WE are the ones who need to pitch in, to fight the fight, to stand toe-to-toe with these libs, or else America as we know it will cease to be.
Our forefathers gave their fortunes and their lives to preserve this nation. The least we can do is to stick together and fight against the liberal lies and sleaze.
I'm off my soap box now. I think I need some wine...

111 degrees here today! I was stupid enough to put myself on a float in the pool and stay there for 4 hours this afternnoon. Needless to say, I am burned to a crisp!
Didn't think I could burn since I am very tan, but it was exceptionally hot so.....OUCH!

Yesterday, I agreed with Fred and thought this would all blow over by next week. Today I spent a little time watching cable news and now am not so sure. Then that silly Larry Klayman had to file his lawsuit against Cheney. That man needs to get a life.
