a large majority of the Mexican population believes the southwest territory of the U.S. rightfully belongs to Mexico, and that Mexicans should have the right to enter the U.S. without first obtaining U.S. permission. This sounds like the Israel/Palestine situation.

"A similar majority, 57 percent, agree with the statement, "Mexicans should have the right to enter the U.S. without U.S. permission," while 35 percent disagree. Seven percent are unsure." Now, did the poll ALSO find out their opinions of the statment: "Americans should have the right to enter Mexico without Mexican permission"? Of course not.

Since I am of Hispanic origin and a devout American, let me assure you people that the AMERICANS here of Hispanic origin would kill every last one of these idiots who think this land belongs to them. That is the future of Azatlan, the 'new' country that is gaining favor among the illegals.

If this poll's questions were any more slanted, they'd need a brace to prop them up from horizontal.

Who really gives a tinker's damn what they think?

Mexican immigrants are vastly preferable to Muslim immigrants. If given a choice, I'll take the Mexicans.

Of course if they had the SW US they would turn it into the economic hellhole that the Mexico is today. They have as many natural resources down there as we have up here, why don't they just get their act together and work to make Mexico a prosperous, free nation and then people wouldn't risk their lives to flee the place?

The US has a sovereign duty to protect our borders.
IMHO, the problem is that the powers that be don't believe the US has the sovereign POWER to protect our borders.
I fully support arming the borders to prevent illegal immigration. And fully oppose amnesty or any other kind of forgiveness for the illegals currently here. Track them down and send their sorry asses back where they came from.

What a crock. If they think it belongs to them, let them try and take it back. We'll see who it really belongs to.
They don't have a right to anything. I swear it's crap like this that makes me want to erect a great wall between the US and Mexico.

Last year I posted on an Atzatlan thread that the Mexicans felt entitled to the SW USA and planned to reannex the region by force of numbers. I had to don my asbestos suit and go out and buy lots of tinfoil on the advice of my fellow FReepers. We are still headed in that direction. There is nothing here that would dissuade me otherwise.

"There is obviously a large and significant gap between the attitudes of Americans and Mexicans," said Robert Goldsborough, AIC president.DUH!
The Mexicans want to come to the United States because it's so much better than Mexico.
I'm getting to the point that I'm almost in the isolationaist camp. Keep our nose out of other countries business and keep thier nose out of ours.

Zogby's poll found that 58 percent of Mexicans agree with the statement, "the territory of the United States' Southwest rightfully belongs to Mexico." Only 28 percent disagree, and 14 percent are unsure. Actually 58% seems like it might be on the low side. I wonder why our government doesn't care about the opinion of the US citizens in this, for some reason most of our politicians seem to be taking the same position as the majority of Mexicans.

Zogby found that a large majority of the Mexican population believes the southwest territory of the U.S. rightfully belongs to Mexico, and that Mexicans should have the right to enter the U.S. without first obtaining U.S. permission. There are gringo Marxists who regularly rally with immigrant shills at the U.N. Plaza in San Francisco to petition the U.N. to enforce the "right" of all American Indians to freely migrate wherever they want to, supposedly to follow the buffalo herds. Not suprisingly, these Marxists hold the same views as the Libertarians do.

I find it very disturbing that this story is not satire.
I also find it disturbing that such attitudes have infected society to the point where many don't realise that I'm being intentionally ironic when I "decry" the plight of illegal immigrants who are treated as though they are criminals.
