I see this denial happening, but I truly do not understand the thinking behind it.

The time has come for governments to catch up with the rest of us and call terrorism by its rightful name.

This says it all. Add to this list the shooting at LAX on July 4. Government continues to think the public is stupid - while WE are the ones who "get it" - not them.

Pipes is correct here--but we are at war. Suppressing the enemy's ability to score points in the media and damage the economy--as much as blowing up a bridge in the romantic warfare of the pass--with an fear-response from the masses has to be achieved by the good guys. We completely screw the bad guys up when we blur their message.

He found his victims - a van full of Hassidic boys - on the Brooklyn Bridge and fired a hail of bullets against them, killing one boy.

These boys were friends and classmates of my sons, who happened to be riding in a different van that day.

Here's the "rest of the story" that wasn't widely reported:

One of the boys, Nachum Sossonkin, was gravely wounded and lay in a coma for many months. It was predicted that he was permanently brain damaged and would live a vegetative existence. However, Nachum's family and friends did not give up. Thanks to topnotch medical care and the prayers of thousands of wonderful people all over the world (Jews and non-Jews), Nachum made a complete recovery. He is now married and a father of children.

Most of these things happened on CLINTON'S WATCH! If they were; "right-wing religious fanatics"(Waco), little boys from Cuba(Elian), etc., etc., then it would matter.

Pres. Bush PLEASE clean house. I know he has a HUGE job to CLEAN UP A MESS but some people who still don't get it need to go.

Possible causes named include a work dispute and a hate crime.

In the interest of clarity, I have made a solemn promise to myself to never use the phrase "hate crime" in speech or print. From now on, I'll be calling a spade a spade, and using the term "thought crime" in it's place. There's no reasoning with the left, but maybe it's still possible to shame them into a measure of lucid thought.

It is mystifying.
There must be much behind the scenes that we are not aware of; it makes no sense otherwise.

Granted, profound ignorance of Islam is understandable, and a certain amount of denial is natural, since we are dealing with a totally alien paradigm of thinking.
But this is over the top.
When out leaders and our police at all levels are acting like they are still clueless after almost a year since the greatest single Muslim Mass Murder in history, something is terribly wrong.

Standing by to see what the fallout is.
I can only conclude that a real explosion of anger is being "managed", but I can't imagine how putting it off is going to attenuate it at all.

The only language understood by the beast is ruthless and total response. When and where will it happen?

More to the point, where will the next American Mass Murder happen? and whose families will be affected directly?
Everybody taking notes?

The jihadists are merely in the middle of their "random acts of mayhem' campaign. Of course, this isn't terrorism.

Pipes hits one out of the park again. Though I would add the fire at the Israeli embassy in Paris a couple of months ago.

Great to see him bring up some of the cases we've forgotten about.

Like the Pakistani who killed a few people outside of CIA HQ in the early 90's. That could be classified as an ex-agent or prior asset going nuts over employment issues.

The autopsy revealed that Jandoubi was wearing two pairs of trousers and four pairs of underpants, which the coroner compared to what is worn by "Islamic militants going into battle or on suicide missions."
What a terrible, bizarre cult Islam is, where Monty Python style comedy and and the most horrific hate-filled violence meet.
