Aren't you fortunate to get a time out for a week. LOL. Heck I remember once a few of us got a six month time out and it lasted a few days maybe a couple weeks or more for some. The girl can't help it.

Oh, gee, I read a post by the person in question just the other day. She said that she was back early by popular demand! :-D

I think that Bush said that he wanted to really think this one through before making a decision.
To: Howlin
Gosh, you must be excited. When you posted this same article on LP it only got 5 comments.Yeah, and nobody at Liberty Post called me names for posting an article either. Nice folks.

Don't reckon they'd lie to her now would they? LOL

I see, though, that my statement "that's funding he can't block" was correct.I don't think so. "Blocking funding of fetal stem cell research" and "prohibiting support of research on the transplantation of human fetal tissue for therapeutic purposes" aren't the same thing. There's plenty wiggle room there, and hopefully the Administration will take advantage of it.

Nobody's calling names on that thread; they're too busy on trashing all us over here on the the "Welcome Thread," aka as "Why I Hate Free Republic but still post there" thread.

Do you know how to find the text of this law that blocks GWB from doing the right thing?
I very much want to see it.
Then maybe we can do something about it.
Cheers,
Richard F.

Could you try to state the meaning of this legislation in English?
And what do you think would happen if GWB, or his subordinates, said that, so far as he, or they, could make it out, there was no license to exploit human remains for 'research' on the basis of this language?
I stand ready to carry a spear, or an AK 47, or whatever else is needed in the political world, to help the President on this matter. And to undermine his wife and her mother-in-law.
Do you?
Cheers,
Richard F.

Note, the important thing that needs defining is "research on the transplantation of human fetal tissue for therapeutic purposes". This is something that could maybe be clarified in new NIH guidelines, imo. (BTW, "human fetal tissue" is already defined in the law as "tissue or cells obtained from a dead human embryo or fetus after a spontaneous or induced abortion, or after a stillbirth.")

Could you try to state the meaning of this legislation in English? Hey, you're the social studies professor. I'm just a lowly science teacher; I was hoping you would explain it to me!
Sure, I'm ready to stop it...what can we do besides calling our congresscritters?

Thanks.. I knew Bush didn't sign any legislation other than what he proposed...

"Do you think she's learned about plagiarism and acknowledging authors? Oh-- maybe they don't teach that until senior year."I did not plagiarize anything; it's called critical thinking and writing, which I got an 'A' in.
