LOL. Some do believe that the legend of the Irish Leprechauns derives from earlier inhabitants of Ireland, the San Bushmen. (I've read a lot about the Bushmen and their habits, mannerisms and etc. do seem to match those of the leprechauns, even pointed ears)

Cymru am bydd! My family hails from Llanfihangel y Creuddyn near Aberystwyth in Wales. The name "Wales" derives from the Latin "waleas" or foreigners. The Welsh referred to themselves as "cymru" or friends. The foreigners were the Anglo-Saxons and Roman army invaders. The mountains on the east protected the Welsh from invasions from the east. The rocky coastline prevented assaults from the sea. The Welsh retreated to the mountains to avoid assaults by land.

Before the advent of modern "B" roads in Wales, the valley where my family resided would have been only accessible by foot or pack animal. It is still difficult to access today.

Fomorians(Ireland)
