We also have "testimony" that this Jesus fella turned water into wine, walked on water, fed the masses with a few loaves of bread & fish, was born of a virgin and raised the dead.

However, we have no independently verifiable proof.

Then why are you posting on a thread discussing a scientific/religious debate? Just wanted to call everyone who believes in the merits of evolution a heathen?

There is no real way to change someones mind via argument.

The motion of the planets is an observed fact. We describe their behaviour with laws.
For a long time it was an accepted fact that they had circular orbits but through better observation Brahe and Kepler found out that they were rather elliptical. Today we know that the orbits of the planets are far weirder than only elliptical and this is the fact that is accepted today.

The Bible deals with a smaller portion of time and is arguably more accurate in it's conclusions than science has been - despite the naysayers that fraudulently contend that the Bible says the earth is flat - ain't in there.

Last night, on TV, footage from many sources showed that a couple of planes had collided in Europe.

Was ANY of that 'proof' (to you) that such an event had actually happened?

The TV footage didn't amount to "proof" as it could have been staged, but that the event received coverage from more than one news organization and the context in which the footage was shown is strong evidence that the event did happen.

Am I to presume that you have TV news footage from the ressurrection of Christ?

1) a portion of a book written, many, many years after said events occurred
2) by a messiah's followers
3) that attributes dozens of supernatural happenings to that same messiah?

evolution is a continum; right?

Change is ALWAYS happening; right?

Really useful stuff is made from not so useful stuff; right?

Therefore, if one believes evolution to be true, there MUST be a bunch of not so useful stuff just hanging around, getting ready to me made into REALLY useful stuff.
