President Bush announced today that he will undergo a colonoscopy tomorrow at Camp David, a routine checkup after doctors found benign polyps a few years ago. The procedure will mark the first time there has been a transfer of power to the Vice President while a President has been sedated for a medical procedure. When asked how he feels, the President said that he felt fine and was looking forward to an afternoon of exercise, after the procedure is done. Earlier in the day, Bush attended a fundraiser for Rep. Connie Morella, R-Md. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

My birthday was really great. Thanks so much for the greetings. You are very thoughtful to have started such a wonderful activity. The dose gives me a lift every day, but today was especially nice.

My birthday was great. Thanks for your wishes. Now this senior is enjoying watching the USGA Senior Open on TV after walking the course on Wednesday. I watched three of the greats: Gary Player, Arnold Palmer and Tom Kite practicing.

I am so pissed at Al Gore. I cannot believe the balls of that guy to insinuate that the corruption and scandals in the corporate world have anything to do with W. HELLLOOOOOO! Gee, Al just who was VP during all this time of greed and deception. Me too.
His arrogant dtr is going to be interviewed by Rita Cosby on Fox News Cable, this evening (Sat.), I think. I just caught a brief preview of it....the entire Gore family appears to be rather dim, imho.

How does he look????Tony Snow on Fox showed a picture (still shot) of the President on a walk with Laura and some others, and he looked fantastic!!
No change there, but yikes, what is that man made of that he can bounce back like that?! If someone drained me completely like that, I would be weak for days! Not walking 4 1/2 miles and working out in the gym!!
He said he felt "great."

Glad to hear he looked good. Well, if they did not remove any polyps, I am sure he is doing well. And since they didn't - that is very good news for him.
Now, darnit, I guess I need to go schedule a colonoscopy for myself!!!! (Ari was encouraging all Americans to get "checked out"). Whew. All this healthiness is going to get to me eventually..... :-)
To: Freedom'sWorthIt
LOL! I suppose I should schedule one too, but I guarantee I wouldn't rebound as quickly as our very fit President! (Although I did start regular workouts because of his example last year, so I'm in better shape that I used to be!)
I guess he doesn't need another one for 5 years because they didn't find any polyps. That has to be a BIG relief!

Looks like the President is just fine! He walked four miles today with Laura and brother Marvin.

WOW, I can't believe he went for a WALK! I hope he doesn't push himself too hard.
To: McGavin999
The walk probably helped him clear the cobwebs from the anesthesia. Phew! I'd be milking a procedure like that as long as I could.

Marvin Bush quote (U.S. News & World Report, Feb. 2000):
"That great sucking sound you hear is the sound of [the] media's lips coming off John McCain's -- [trailing off without filling in the blanks]."
Marvin Bush (baby brother of GWB)
Date of birth: Oct. 22, 1956
A venture capitalist in Alexandria, Va., Marvin pitched in on his fathers campaigns and his doing his part to help George W. raise cash. He and wife Margaret have two children, Marshall and Walker.

Be sure to have this procedure done while you are young. I know two ladies who needed the procedure done when they were late 70's and during the procedure, their intestine was ruptured and they had to have major surgery. One of them has never recovered enough to life independently again and the other has had a pretty close to full recovery, but still has some problems from the surgery.
I know that Katy Couric and others have been touting this procedure, but be very sure that the surgeon who is doing it is one that your absolutely trust.

George W. is a trooper, I dont know where he gets his energy, I had one those procedures done I certainly wasn't up for a 4 1/2 mile hike afterwards.

Thanks, it's good to see he's fine. About the walk -- could this be a macho thing? He said he would walk today, and by golly even if it kills him he's going to do it.
To: Freedom'sWorthIt
Glad to hear he looked goodSo am I. Now maybe some of those Freepers who have been putting off getting this test done will get some encouragement by the way he bounced back!

My doctor has been bugging me to have one....guess the time has come to go for it.
I did hear a doctor on FNC remark that GWB is in better condition than any other president he could remember!
