A few of FR's Finest....Every Day 06-27-02

A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001
So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!
And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

ONE OF FREE REPUBLIC'S FINEST
RINTENSE
(aka Republican Warrior Princess)
Rintense has been posting a Daily Thread - "A Day in the Life of President Bush" - since shortly after the Inauguration last year. This thread enjoyed almost instantaneous success and has affectionately been dubbed "The Dose".
The Dose begins with a summary of the President's Day, followed by a quote of the day and then photos taken of the President that day. Rintense downloads these photos (mostly from Yahoo and the WH Website) and posts them for all of us to see. She also provides comments along the way and replies to posters. The thread is informative, educational, humorous and poignant. It is posted in the early evening and many of us cannot retire for the night till we have had our Daily Dose of W.
If you have not already done so, do check out the Dose link here. If you like what you see, send Rintense a freep mail and she will put you on her ping list.
Take a bow, Rintense. You have created and maintained a valuable and popular thread and you are ONE OF FREE REPUBLIC'S FINEST.

These aren't the first Habitat pictures? These were taken June 5th of last year.
To: ohioWfan
This one then?
As you can see I have made a photo album out of the pictures from that Dose. Hehehe!

golly! Use either one! I don't think it matters if we skip around, use the same ones over and over or what! I saw it being discussed earlier, said I'd put the words to that vignette of daisy's, and then I'd been away from the thread for a couple of hours, and put it together and uploaded it and wrote you and a couple of other mails before I posted it here! It's not exclusive or a secret as far as I'm concerned! Flip a coin! LOL. My feelings will not be hurt! I saw lodwick's after I posted the one I did, and like it a lot! I saved IT, too!! LOL!

I hope you will break this habit and come visit with us. Yes, please do. I got a kick out of your story about the VI kids living in your bushes. LOL!
To: Diver Dave
Good afternoon, Dave, and thank you! Actually, I'm not sure it's even possible to find a 'bad' flag graphic!

Okay, I think it would be nice to skip around and use different ones. I just try to be careful about using other people's creations without asking - or "liberating" them, as lodwick says. LOL

A mother-in-law stopped unexpectedly by the recently married couple's house. She rang the doorbell and stepped into the house.
She saw her daughter-in-law standing naked by the door.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
"I'm waiting for my husband to come home from work," the daughter-in-law answered.
"But you're naked!" the mother-in-law exclaimed.
"This is my love dress," the daughter-in-law explained.
"Love dress? But you're naked!"
"My husband loves me to wear this dress! It makes him happy and it makes me happy. I would appreciate it if you would leave because he will be home from work any minute."
The mother-in-law was tired of all this romantic talk and left.
On the way home she thought about the love dress. When she got home she got undressed, showered, put on her best perfume and waited by the front door.
Finally her husband came home. He walked in and saw her standing naked by the door.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"This is my love dress," she replied.
Husband: "Needs ironing!"

I will probably never have to buy a joke book. My friends have me supplied with jokes but too many that Jim would ban me for using. LOL

Well, thanks for explaining what the VI stands for! I'm REALLLLLLY glad this is a VI-Free Zone then!
And thanks for the nice words - I'm very pleased with the reception we've gotten in just 4 days. Would love to see you get out of lurker mode and into hello mode though! We'll try to keep the VIs away! :)

OK, mountaingirl, lawgirl knows the one I'm talking about! It's a kneeling/hammering shot, but more straight on......not from the side.
Lawgirl, you got it......I'll be on tonight!

Isn't that the truth - sorry it took me so long to find it, but I KNEW that I'd put it on several threads a few days ago to give people's spirits a lift for a moment or two.

I THINK that the way JohnRob described it is that the option is there if we're cutting and pasting a lot of text from somewhere else, and with the word wrap OFF, it doesn't make line breaks in funny places. (or something like that) I can't be sure about the reasoning for having the OPTION, because it's GOING TO WRAP WHEN WE PREVIEW AND POST ANYWAY! FWIW, I play like it's not there!
