[Let me try again, with better formatting - guess I'm a bit worked up.]

IS it really necesssary to Amend the Cconstitution for that?

This decision will be overturned by SCOTUS.

Yes, my friend, it is.

Read today's Washington Post.

Here is only a one paragraph excerpt of the view from the left, followed by a link to the whole distasteful article:

Although the 9th Circuit is the most liberal federal appeals court in the country -- its rulings are frequently reversed by the more conservative Supreme Court -- legal analysts from across the ideological spectrum said yesterday that it was not stretching the high court's past cases.

[Emphasis added.]

U.S. Court Votes to Bar Pledge of Allegiance - Use of 'God' Called Unconstitutional

We must make sure they can NEVER EVER do this again!!!

This is true... it is but another nut atop the 9th Circuit's fruitcake.

agreed and a big bump to the top (like it needs any help)... you're asking a lot of Americans to lose their place in line at Blockbuster to help fight socialism

Maybe so, but an Amendment will ensure this can never happen again.

So we should do it.

How about making sure this nutcase hears the Pledge, as it was enacted in 1954, 24/7?

NC FReepers -

This ping was suggested by Lee'sGhost.
Below are the contact numbers for our Ambulance-Chaser Senator, John Edwards.
I posted his vile picture above in the hopes of spurring y'all into action. (ain't I a stinker?)

Let's contact this slimeball and find out his position on the 9th Circuit's Pledge decision.

As Lee'sGhost said, it "would be nice for him to know we're watching and have him on record."

Thanks for your help,
CD

Yes it would be a good idea for teachers to explain at the start of the school year that the pledge is not required if the parents or guardians do not wish it

This isn't really adequate -- the instructions of the parent of guardian ought to be explicitly obtained, and the teacher ought to instruct the class that the school authority does not extend to this point.

Your statement validates Mr. Robinson's thesis. As long as you "dedicated constitutionalists" or whatever you claim to be insists on picking up your marbles and leaving the game just because the Republican candidates do not meet your measure of "purity", the liberals will keep on winning.

Face the facts...there are two viable political parties in this nation, Republican and Democrat. There are a few spoiler/spoiled groups claiming to be parties, but they are spoilers at their most potent. If you don't vote Republican in the next election, then, for all intents and purposes, you are voting liberal DemocRAT. Save your hot air pontificating for yourselves. You are either with us, or you are against us.

No bias at that site, eh?

To be honest, I've never investigated any of the opinions expressed on Project Vote Smart other than the ones directly attributable to the representatives themselves. My main purpose for posting a link to thier site was to ensure others in this forum have a means by which they can locate and contact their representatives.

I missed their revisionist history lesson concerning their "Teachers discussion on the Constitution" link. Thank you for calling it to my attention.

All the more reason to start foaming at the mouth . . .

That's why folks who advocate giving up on the GOP like B. A. Conservative, sneakypete, et al. always confused me. It seems so obvious to you and me that politicians are vote whores and will do whatever their constituencies want if their constituencies demand it. The reason that the Dept. of Education is still around, the reason PBS and NPR are still funded by tax dollars, etc. is because the politicians think that voters want them to still be around and still be funded. If 4 million more Republican votes turn up this fall than in 2000-- and they all want the DOE, NPR, and PBS gone-- watch how fast they are gone.

If the elections are nationalized at all (regardless of the proportions) it's a disaster for the Democrats as long as Bush's job approval stays above 65%. The Democrats are trying to localize races this year.

You are so right about this, Jim. The Country is infested with Liberals. They are even here at FR.

Wake up America! And wake up right-wingers! Vote out the Democrats. Vote in a huge Republican majority so we can retake America from the liberals!

I totally agree. Thanks so much for your post.
