Someone posted the preamble to the constitution which contains the word blessing. Then posted the dictionary definition of blessing. The dictionary defines blessing in religious terms.

They suggested this court would rule the constitution was unconstitutional. By the courts logic, it certainly is.

In fact all this court has proved is that the constitution means what ever the judges say it means. The Supreme court nearly 200 years ago ruled that only the court could determine what the constitution means.

Most of founding fathers wanted the constitution to be a self evident document. A document whose words meant what they mean. A document that would mean the same to everyone. Perhaps that is why they engineered Jefferson (The Democracy Advocate) to be in France and had Madison write a self evident constitution.

But the Democracy Advocates (Democrats) wanted a nation ruled by the will of a smiple majority. Jefferson was the founder of the Democrat party. So when Justice Marshall put an end to our Republic and turned it into a Democracy tempered by Judicial Fiat, the Democracy advocate in the white house never opened his mouth. Once we believe that "Congress shall make no law" means "Judges shall make lots of laws", then the constitution is worthless.

Republicans were those that wanted this nation to be a Republic. That is why they called themselves Republicans. Democrats wanted a Democracy... that is why they called themselves Democrats. The Democrats advocated Democracy but have come to like judical fiat just fine.

Those of you who argue for your type of judge are not asking for a return to a self evident constitution. They are arguing for judges whose fiats are to their liking.

Our nation as a Free Republic lasted less than 15 years. And now it is approahing its 200th year as a Democracy tempered by Judicial fiat.

It did not take us 200 years to get where we are. We got where we are in less than 15. As long as we pretend that our government is like it was in 1802 except for a few bad people, we will never fix it.

It was two hundred years ago that this nation ceased to be a constitional republic. It was Justice Marshall that ruled that he and his judges could say what the constitition meant. That made the court the constitition and the constitution a piece of paper used to fool us. We ceased to bet a constitutional republic 200 years ago when Justice Marshall asserted, and Jefferson did not dispute, that the constitution is what ever the judges say it is.

When someone says the constitution guarantees us the right to do something, I always ask, "When did the judges rule that?"

This is cheap, empty pandering by a gutless and corrupt(McCain said so) Senate.

Until the House impeaches these Justices and the Senate removes them, they can stuff their resolutions.

Too funny! It didn't take Dashole long to figure out this decision is a disaster for both him and Looney Leahy.

Yup! And all the grandstanding in the world isn't going to confuse the American people into understanding the obvious: This decision is a result of liberalism. Democrats ARE liberalism. Thus they must go. (And don't anyone give me that "The judge was a Nixon appointee" crap. Nixon was one of the most liberal Republicans of the 20th century on a lot of issues.)

The U. S. Senate has condemned the Ninth Circuit Court's ruling on the Pledge of Allegience by a 99-0 margin.

Smart tactic. Since they've done "everthing they could" the issue will now die and that ruling will stand, as it should.

Thanks, patriciaruth. I'm going to be following this eagerly from a legal point of view. Aside from its bizarreness, the fact is that the Court has already ruled that no one can be forced to say the Pledge (in response to a Jehovah's Witness challenge). Consequently, I can't imagine how a court can regard this as coercive, in the sense of "establishing" religion.

I was actually waiting for them to declare the Constitution unconstitutional.

See article VII of the original Constitution ...

Done in Convention by the Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven and of the Independence of the United States of America the Twelfth In witness whereof We have hereunto subscribed our Names,

.

But they'll most likely say that teaching the Declaration of Independence is unconstitutional before they say the Constitution is unconstitutional.

You are probably right, but where's your fighting spirit? Remember, "we the people, of the United States of America". Don't let a bunch of commie Clinton appointed judges stand in your way. Fight, man, fight. Please, fight for the greatest country the world has seen - God Bless America.

Helms has missed all Senate votes since his heart surgey, and he may not be back until September.

So the 9th District is trying to tell America that these two little words, "under God," establish religion? Well, of course everyone can see that after 48 years of this particular Pledge, that religion thing has been established all over the place.

I mean, everywhere you look the government's established God and that religion in every building and office in the land.

Yessiree Bob, it's downright dangerous the way that Pledge has established religion in the past 48 years. Darn near 100% of the people are hooked into the thing now, I'm pretty sure.

Sheesh. Those justices must be some real mental giants, can't you tell?

I agree. The Ninth Circuit is the most liberal in the country and most sessions is slapped down multiple times by SCOTUS. The only antidote is appointing and confirming conservative judges.

I don't believe this; I think you just made this up and everyone replying on this thread was dumb enough to just take your word for it.

"In Massachusetts, the Governor made an appointment to the Supreme Court a
woman from Afica that's only been in America for two years, made her the Chief Justice on the Massachusetts Supreme Court."

Nice try. Did you really think that nobody would check into your assertion? Here's her bio:

I have been listening to Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) discussing the issue of the courts removing God from our everyday lifes. I will get his comments from the Congressional record when they go on-line. He is doing the best job I have ever heard of saying just what you are saying!

Hopes the United States Supreme Court will re-evaluate what they have been doing in removing God from the schools, etc.
