Thank you for the wish for God's blessings. That is the truth of what keeps our nation strong.

May we compose and carry ourselves such that He will continue to do so.

the "surpreme" court? Whatever. The pledge of allegiance is voluntary to which I proudly pledge...to outlaw it would be a disgrace to all for which we stand. At the same time, to enforce the pledge as law would be equally a disgrace to all for which we stand. Meantime, I voluntarily, proudly, and with honor pledge my allegiance to these United States.

The question you must ask yourself, is the pledge constitutional? Or, does the constitution provide that you must pledge allegiance?

If, "Daschole is totally dishonest in his support IMHO", then it's time to expose this dishonesty. I don't know how to start a petition to impeacch. You have the experience as this thread demonstrates.

Some big fish are already on exactly what you propose my friend. The ACU (American Conservative Union) chairman is calling for just that:

ACU's Keene Calls for Impeachment of Judges Who Ruled Pledge Unconstitutional

(Washington, DC) - American Conservative Union Chairman David Keene ripped today's 9th Circuit Court ruling that the pledge of allegiance was unconstitutional due to the inclusion of the phrase "under God" and called for the impeachment of the two judges who came up with such a ridiculous opinion regarding the separation of church and state.

"These are the kinds of goofy decisions we'll see more of if Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle and the Daschle Democrats keep bottling up the President's nominations of dozens of judicial appointments," said Keene. "The President has done a magnificent job selecting qualified individuals who will refrain from this kind of judicial activism. His nominees should be approved without further delay, and Justices Goodwin and Reinhardt should be impeached and put out to pasture."

Keene said the ruling should be immediately appealed to the full panel of the 9th Circuit Court and ultimately, if necessary, to the Supreme Court.

"If this ruling is allowed to stand, the days of 'God Bless America' and 'In God We Trust' are numbered," said Keene. "I find it absolutely amazing that anyone could interpret such general references to a supreme being as a government establishment of religion. It defies common sense. But unfortunately, that's par for the course out there on the Left coast."

Keene called on all Americans to rise up in anger and indignation and demand that Tom Daschle and the Democrats free the judicial hostages and allow the Bush appointments to bring some sanity back to our judicial system.

"This decision should bring home to the American people why the fight to appoint judges who will interpret the Constitution and not re-write it is so important," concluded Keene. "I hope every American who is outraged by this decision gets on the phone and calls Tom Daschle demanding he stop obstructing the judicial confirmation process."

If O'Reilly is correct, then the argument focuses on the aspect of "under God" in the pledge. IOWs a freedom of religion argument.

The Pledge is not a religion, and the Constitution enumertes and vouchsafes our right to free speech and free exercise of our religious preferences.

So, unless the School district was "forcing" everyone to say the pledge, there is no basis IMHO.

If this stands, "In God we Trust" will come off coins, etc., etc.

I intend to fight it tooth and nail.

FRegards.

Absolutely, neither the pledge nor our nation is a religion.

Saying the pledge of Allegiance is the ultimate in Free Speech.

This odious judicial ruling is a direct violation of our 1st amendment rights to say the Pledge of Allegiance. Only those intent on destroying our rights would make such a ruling.

It is time show America the evils of the ACLU and their buddies the Enviralist Nazis. Both of these left wing Anti America groups work 24/7 to destroy America.

If we keep up the pressue we can make a difference. We have to take a stand. Otherwise there will be no stopping the courts.

That the pledge is unconstitutional is nonesense. The judges have a personal agenda.
