Here's a thread for those of us who still respect and admire Rush. (Holding my breath and hoping it can stay positive...)

I think Rush must follow FR because I remember seeing some of those comments on here a couple of days ago.

Holding my breath with you -- thanks for starting the post.

I was thinking the same thing.
It's the economy stupid and Clinton is good for the economy etc....
Turned out it was all a house mirrors.

The national economy has bee slowly declining over a period of nearly 30 years. Contrary to assertion, the economy never made a complete recovery from the disastrous '90-95 dip.

will continue to lay this right at Clinton's doorstep, "where it belongs." Sic'em, Rush.
I would be interested to know the voter registration ratio of Reps. to Dems. in the executives, board members and mid-mgmnt at Enron, Global Crossing, etc. I predict 75% democrat, mid to top execs.

Rush is irrelevant, not because his assessment is wrong, but because he's preaching to a choir that already knows that the economic downturn and the fraud and corruption that has paralled that downturn didn't begin the day that George Bush took over the Oval Office. The problem is that Rush doesn't have the balls to regularly appear with the talking heads from the mainstream media and debate these issues with the Katie Colons of the world or to regularly invite pundits from the talking head circuit on his show. As a result his thoughts, no matter how true, rarely extend beyond his target market, which is the very people who already know that eight years of Bill and Hillary are a major of cause of the curent economic situation.

He also stated that he has sound clips from this mornings cat fight between Katie and Ann.

Hopefully, we will see some effective criminal prosecution. When the punishment is 10-20% of the scam paid to the feds in the form of a fine, it doesn't do much to discourage fraud.

Rush is absolutely correct here. We are experiencing the "Clinton hangover". And baby, it's gonna be a doozy! Corruption and money scams of the 90's...coming home to roost on GW's watch. Yeah, the Clintons dumped a steamy pile in Bush's lap. I wonder if Hillary will revive the "It's the economy stupid" mantra when she runs for prez in 2004? Maybe it's all a political setup.

Gephart was just on Fox news, a bit ago, blaming 8 years of Republican Congress for the mess. The Republicans challenged them to try blaming Republicans. It was pointed out that Mcauliffe got millions from the Global Crossing thing. This ought to be fun.

I can't put my finger on it but I have always thought there was something fishy about the 90s economy. The market seemed so incredibly high...too high. Credit, which in previous years was not always easy to get, became available to high risk canidates. It seemed like anybody could get credit. I heard that corporate debt was floating the economy. Was I imagining things or did they halt trading everytime the market started to tank during a session? It didn't seem right. There was no smoking gun though. Maybe this is it and the chickens have come home to roost. Or maybe I just have old fashioned ideas about money... keep it under your pit bull's doghouse.

Rush is right - again! And all is at peace. This is the Old Rush and THIS is what we need!
To: truthkeeper
Back in the late '90s, there were MANY threads on this site concerning the propping up of the stock market by the Xlinton administration in order to keep the economy strong and, therefore, make the Demoncrats look good. Some of the threads were condemned by some as tin-foil hat fodder. I can't really remember if there were actual articles posted.
I've been thinking a lot about the economy today and remembering those threads. It would be interesting if someone took the time to resurrect them and give Rushbo some help with his effort.

Clinton is a bastard, so I don't mind when he or Democrats get dumped on. But what happened is exclusively the fault of those that committed crimes.
First the Internet was seen as a big future way to make tons of profit and sales in general. It turned out to be about 15% of what they hoped for.
Based on perception mostly alone, the stock goes up everywhere and as interest rates decline the common guy tended to out of desperation go into stocks as well. This further rose the price of stock up.
Because of the pressure to show that stock is worth anything, just like before the great depression, people participated in fraudulent behavior.
This is nothing new and should be punished.
It is kind of ignorant to suggest though that a politician's behavior won out over money concerns as to why some participated in crimes against stockholders.
I like Rush, but I don't think Clinton ever had that much power.
Again, this happened before the great depression last time when another big bubble happened and CEO types were desperate to stay with it all. Clinton wasn't there then, so how did he influence that one? Being he didn't, this is just people being dirty.
Can't blame Rush for trying though! LOL
