I like that kind of post. I was born in '68 and I remember growing up in safety. I know I was 3 1/2 years old and my brother was 19 months younger than me...he and I would pull our wagon to the store down the road and get milk and bread for mom.
I won't let my kids play in the front yard without me watching through a window, or at least listening for them.
Times have changed sadly, and we can all blame the liberals.

I was born that same year!
I remember going down the street to the corner store as well. This was the early '70s, I was definitely younger than five since I hadn't started school yet...
I'm lucky to live in a very close neighborhood with no through streets and a gate, but we still make sure there's at least one adult supervising if the kids are playing in the front yards.
You can't be too careful, that's for sure! It's sad that we have to live this way.
