President Bush made it unmistakably clear yesterday that Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Yasser Arafat is the No. 1 obstacle to freedom and a good life for the Palestinians. Speaking from the White House, Mr. Continues.

This wasn't a Presidential statement on Mideast policy as much as a bill of indictment of Arafat and co.

"That's because they overestimate their importance and influence. Once again George W. is showing us his view of where we should be going as opposed to allowing others speak for him. I believe we are in for other pleasant surprises, despite the whiners constantly complaining they are disappointed in the President."

Beautifully stated, toddst. President Bush is unique. He can't be put into the any of the traditional media-driven categories. The pundits and pols just don't have what it takes to deal with a real person. I am surprised that they are such slow learners, though.

When the speech was over I sat there for a few moments giving thanks........

To me it was nearly as momentous as the speech after the terror attacks.

We are truly blessed to have this man in the White House.

I suspect the blacks who are anti-Jewish are mostly Muslims. Your take, also?

They certainly seem much more sympathetic to Moslems than to Jews, but I don't know how many of them are actually Moslems. I suspect the pro-Palestinian, anti-Jewish attitude is fostered by the black media in this country.

Spot on, John. The future will be very interesting indeed. Love the quote about the 'Rats thwarted efforts to use the Jewish voters even more. Hehehehe...

The media and the Democrats were champing at the bit, savoring the chance to pounce on the President as a milksop, a coward, a liar -- a double-crossing, double-dealing weakling pantywaist shivering before Arafat, Big Oil, the "Arab world."

As were some on this wonderful forum. In every case John, brilliant, simply brilliant.

Old friend, my sentiments too.

Superb analysis, JH2! Thank you so much!

Thanks for the ping, MeeknMing. Keep em coming!

My only question, moot at this point, is how much if any did this speech differ from the one "W" planned to deliver last week? Not too much, I bet!

FReegards!

Very good analysis, JH2. President Bush is very strong...and very brave.
However, JFK didn't really like Bush's speech.
heheh

That clymer Kerry was all over the media Sunday like "flys on a ribroast".
Too bad he can't take back his comments now.

Excellent article.

Arafat will either step down, and the Palestinians and those backing Hamas, Hezbollah, and Islamic Jihad will end the terror, or they will meet the fate of the Taliban.

Yeah it makes me wonder if there was a real difference in the content
or if that was theatrics for dramatic effect (doubtful). Bottom line to
me is it's the right decision/proposal and I support it.
Now, what the heck is THIS all aboout?:

Thanks for another remarkable post. It should be required reading for all on FR, especially those who have willfully deaf ears as to what the President said in his speech yesterday.

"Too bad he can't take back his comments now."

I heard him trashing Bush's speech just this morning on, I think, FNC.
He looked silly...but he always looks silly.

LIEberman wants to bring thousands of palestinians here to America to learn about democracy. No doubt like the nineteen hijackers learned about democracy. The demonrats are in total meltdown and their suggestions border on insanity.
