Not the speech the naysayers thought we would hear! Good for GW!

Don't reward terrorists please. Regardless of how much Powell whimpers.

Where are all the "Reform Party Orphans" who dragged their NYT's articles to this forum claiming Bush was going to give Arafat a terrorist state, I want to see the egg on their faces,

Blow yourself up, get a country as a reward.

Bush is demanding a peaceful, democratic, financially honest Palestinian state.
Since there is no precedent for this, it is unlikely to occur. And Israel can then say, well, you know what the conditions are for peace....

Naming Iran and Syria as terror supporters. Supplies from Iran must be blocked, training camps in Syria/(Lebanon?) must be closed.

The political kiss of death, bye bye Yasser!

To Israelis: The Palestinian Authority has rejected your open hand and responded with terror.
To Pallies: You have been treated as pawns and deserve better.

Bush's plan is appropriate to the situation. Which means, of course, that it will be immediately rejected by the Palestinians, the terror organizations, and most other Arab/Islamic states.
That means that it serves it's proper purpose quite nicely. It also means that someone better put a watch on the upper floor and roof of the State Dept. building: There's probably a whole lot of distraut Ivy League diplomats about ready to jump off...

The finish to Bush's speech!
Like the Bible says: I have set before you life and death...choose life.
To: RCW2001
Anyone who says that Bush just rewarded terrorists is either a fool, a liar or both.He just kicked Arafat to the curb and gave the Pale people an ultimatum-do it my way( economic and security reforms, end to terror, honest, democratically elected leaders, etc)or it's the side of the Israeli highway. A great speech.

Bush supports Israel over the Palis!!!
To all the naysayers, ES&D.

Big carrot, little if any stick.
Sounds like a great CARROT for the Palestinians give they form elections.
What is the STICK that the U.S. will commit themselves too?
Ask yourselves what is the result when this soft overture (once again) fails?
And I thought the Paletinians already violated conditions for 242, etc.
Talk ... talk.

I did not get to hear Bush's speech. But I did see the news from this morning that Arrafat wanted to go with the Clinton Peace Plan and Israel said it is too late for that.
Makes that comment more interesting after Bush's speech - Arrafat you get no Peace Plan of any type!

With appologies, I have the file preped and ready to post but my server has become the missing link. I'll post when able.

As Bob Novak stated........the Israeli's couldn't have been happier with the speech if they had written it themselves. He judged the speech a total vindication for Israel and a strong message to the Palestinians.......choose LIFE!

I have ONE question for those who claim this is not a capitulation to terrorism;
Since it is a FACT that President Bush has in past, comprimised on policies he has presented; Why do you NOT expect President Bush to water down through comprimise with vested interests, the conditions he uses in this latest Middle-East policy announcement ?
