Just thought I should let you know that the "Bush Response Team" is not actually an organized group, but rather people who are loyal to the President and who respond similarly.

Just as I am sure the "Bush Attack Team" is not an organized effort.

Having supported Pres Bush since 1994, I probably know his mode of operation a lot better than most of the detractors on here and when the chips are down he will come through. I don't mean on such things as CFR which some folks on here still don't understand his reasoning which is just Politics 101 -- there is a Senate to win if the bashers really care. There is a difference between political matters and something like the safety of this Country.

President Bush loves this Country and will do everything he can to protect it. What's wrong with admiring someone for doing what I believe is the right thing when the chips are down. Sure is a lot better than going around criticizing everything he does when some people don't even read what he says. This President has been trashed for everything imagineable on here including some people referring to him as committing treason. Why don't you go read the threads that went after Jim Robinson on the weekend and come back and tell me that conservatives like that.

I have tried not to engage in the name calling but I don't like being compared to Hitler if you don't mind and called other names by the Keyes people and why -- because I asked for debate to be taken off an activism thread and it wasn't even a debate -- it was bashing!

I have not hidden the fact that I did not agree with the Education bill but I will also state that if we had a Republican Senate, that control would have been returned to the local level in a lot of instances. That is on the drawing board for the minute we Take Back the Senate. There are many other plans that were scuttled because of Jeffords but that seems to be lost in the shuffle.

The people that supported the losing campaigns very seldom, if ever, give him credit for anything. The name calling of this President who is an honorable man is beneath my contempt and the reason that a lot of us have begun to react against the bashing.

I don't go on Keyes threads and bash -- why do Keyes people feel free to bash on any Bush positive threads?

As I have been stating -- I am a Republican leaning conservative because I don't want to be associated with the so-called "real conservatives" that believe you cannot like Pres Bush and be a "real conservative!"

How about when he agreed with Thinkin' Gal, who inferred that President Bush was the anti-Christ? Want to agree with that one, kristinn?

Where did he say that, Miss Marple? This is the only response to Thinkin Gal that I see.

EV, holdonnow did not need to come in here calling names. You & I have disagreed plenty, and we've disagreed vehemently, but I don't recall us calling each other "pukes" and such as that, do you?

You know very well that I am on the pro-GWB side, but there is no excuse for the ad hominems I saw here tonight on both sides of the issue.

Hi, I appreciate your comments. My perception is how I see it. I do not think Bush has betrayed Israel at all in his speech today. In fact I think he makes is royally clear that Israel has every right to defend herself against these scum terrorists and he stands resolutely behind the people of Israel.

I also believe that he has ordered the people of Palestine to create and establish a new frame of government with new leaders willing to reject Arafat and his vile comrades, which is no easy task as he appears to be the last to want to relinquish power, before any type of Palestinian State will ever exist.

Heck, given the odds of his proposal for peace, economic development, independence, stability and freedom to reach fruition, I'm thinking he was bold and perhaps appeared overly hopeful but was not our Founding Fathers any less hopeful for our young Republic to win her freedom against tyranny. He surely must know that it is up to the Palestinian people to show their true colors, either they are with us or they are against us.

So, I'm sorry too that you think my comments are sanctimonious claptrap and perhaps they are to some extent, but what the heck is wrong in working towards a peace where Israel can and must survive. I truly believe that there are many innocent people living today in tyrannical governments that yearn for freedom and need to hear the good words of our President. To me there is hope as long as we have the ability and power to bring the values and traditions of this great Republic to the masses of those who live chained to despotic rulers.

Anyway, thanks again for your thoughts.

The figures are ludicrous. I posted the numbers some time ago in detail. I think the numbers were from the American Muslim Council (somewhat more moderate than CAIR, or whatever it is called) website or some such, which carried out a very detailed poll on a host of issues. Bush carried the Muslim community by a narrow margin. He did well among Pakistanis as I recall. He barely carried the Arabs by a plurality, with the Arabs giving Nadar a very heavy vote. Bush will not carry the Muslim vote I suspect next time. But it would be a strange world if he did not more than make it up with a better showing among Jews.

The 7-10 million figure of Muslims in this country is also ludicrous. It is more like 3 million, including close to a million African Americans.

For those of you who couldn't hear the President's speach earlier today.  Here is an instant replay.

Here is a link to the text Clara Lou was so nice to provide. LINK

My instand replay missed the first two sentences.  Sorry about that.  The rest of the speach as 15.5 minutes in length.

Here are the opening sentences that I missed: http://www.jewishworldreview.com

President Bush:

For too long, the citizens of the Middle East have lived in the midst of death and fear. The hatred of a few holds the hopes of many hostage. The forces of extremism and terror are attempting to kill progress and peace by killing the innocent. And this casts a dark shadow over an entire region...

Actually this is not a pro or con GWB issue, IMHO.

The issue, IMO, is the non-sensical knee jerk ranting. I read through threads that are quite civil and all of the sudden flame wars break out, usually started by people whose only purpose is to bash Bush. It also happens when people start threads using an imflammatory title as a "vanity".

I post accordingly. I wasn't the one who started the non-sensical ranting and bashing on this thread.

I have two theories, FWIW. It was holdonnow in total meltdown or a previously prominent person on FR who had a major role in a candidate's run for the Presidency in 2000.

The Palestinian state he is describing will never happen; his 'vision' is a lie. So far, it's the same old rhetoric.

Where is it infered by TG that Bush is the anti-Christ and where does holdonnow agree with that? Am I missing something?

In my opinion, they are willing to turn this country over the liberals just so they can say, "See, I told you he wasn't a 'real' conservative, he wasn't a 'true' conservative." They would rather be right than suport him.

Right out of the Alan Keyes playbook may I add! He started saying that in OK during the primaries and it continues until today.

As for Rush, Hannity, Levin, and Keyes -- guess they figure they would get better ratings if the DemocRATS were in power! Well not from his person -- if we don't Take Back the Senate and Keep the House, I will never listen to any of the four again about anything! And I will not buy anything from their sponsors even if I really want it. This person has had it with the continual bashing of this President by so-called "true conservatives!" which all of us no longer are a member of it seems!

You need to follow the replies from her #50. People who know much more about the Bible than I do were discussing it.
