Have they seen how the "true conservatives" on this site -- you know, the "real conservatives" -- call Bush evil? Have they seen how those of us who differ with the extreme rights' view are ridiculed? On this very thread, he was practically called the anti-Christ and CHEERED on.

Does THAT bother them?

This thread is an embarrassment.

With that I agree. But the shame is mutual among the pro- and the anti-GWB factions.

Along with multiple Bushbots, Mark was among those who embarrassed themselves.

Go back to where he came in on this thread. The tale of the printout says different.

Nothing would cause him to imply that any poster is a "retard" and that is exactly what he did.

I am telling you we should have a talk show. I KNOW we could beat the ususal crowd! My husband turned off Hannity and Colmes tonight because "all they do is gripe." LOL!

My husband is closer to the average Republican viewer than most people here.

We could have reasonable discussion, gardening and fashion comments, recipes, and humor. It would be MUCH better than what we are getting!

AND we could get NEW pundits! Let's have Luis Gonzalez, Common Tator, and JohnHuang2!!

Well gee I guess you are being clintonian with your triangulating.

How about when he agreed with Thinkin' Gal, who inferred that President Bush was the anti-Christ? Want to agree with that one, kristinn?

This thread went almost 300 posts before this "high profile" conservative sauntered in and decided to pick a fight.

Yes, he came to fight. I say more power to him.

He came in a fighting mood, because like thousands of other leaders in DC, he reads FR...and he is getting damn sick and tired of seeing every conservative leader worth spit being trashed by the "Bush FR Response Team".

He has friends...friends to whom he is loyal. He was simply doing what any honorable man will do when his friends are continuously attacked with smears...he is fighting back.

God help this country if the fighters like Mark Levin are in some way marginalized by attacks by the political establishment...there wouldn't be anyone left who cared much about anything in Washington beyond the next election.

Looks to me like he threw his two cents in and got jumped instead of debated on the merits of his remarks (especially as the thread went on--the first few responses were a mix of snideness and 'debate'.)

There is always one coat holder in the crowd.

"Actually, the reason that are here is because it WAS an extremely important speech.
They cannot handle it."

I've read a few Israeli articles tonight and they seem very happy with the speech. They see it as an end to the Arafat era. Some say it is the most favorable to Israel speech ever delivered by an American president addressing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

"US President George W. Bush's address was greeted with satisfaction in Jerusalem last night, and a feeling that the country's diplomatic policy and intense lobbying efforts had borne fruit.

....Bush accepted Israel's two primary demands: that there be a total cessation of terrorism, and that the PA undergo a total reformation, before any progress can be made. The officals pointed out that Bush did not call for an immediate withdrawal, a return to the 1967 borders, or a firm timetable."

Hey... what do the Israelis know, they just live and die there.

Looks to me like he can dish it out but not take it. Like many around here.

"Looks to me like he can dish it out but not take it."

Which makes it puzzling because usually he can...

I missed Colonel North's remarks-where and when?

Sorry. I had to run out for a few...
Colonel North was the first guest on Hannity and Colmes. If you want to see it, it should repeat in a couple of hours.

I do not turn the other cheek.

Why of course you don't. Which makes you a perfect representative of the 'Bush FR Response Team'.

Must be why they let you take point so much these days.

Strange you mention that but here's an article touting the same thing ...... I'd question the accuracy of the numbers until further supported by facts/data.

If the election of 2000 taught us anything, it taught us that the country is divided straight down the middle. Sure, the GOP may have lost the confidence of the aforementioned groups. But one group did vote for the GOP. They voted in numbers. They voted en masse. They are over 7 million strong. The majority of them, over 87% voted for then Governor of Texas George W. Bush. Many of them, about 35%, voted for the first time in the 2000 election. Almost all of them, 87-95% voted for Bush based on what their leadership recommended. Over 70,000 in Florida alone voted for Bush.

If this group had chosen not to vote for the GOP candidate, he would not be in the White House.

This group is the American Muslim community. The community is about 7-10 million strong and has agreed to vote as a bloc. The Muslim community elected Bush. Make no mistake about it. No other group or community can make this claim. The only reason that Gore is not president, is because Muslims overwhelmingly supported Bush.

I rest my case.

What case? Holdonnow decided on his own free will to enter a thread using insults in what was, IMHO, a civil thread.

He made his "mark" and not for the better, IMHO, and in the opinion of many who have read this thread.

Even Alan Keyes seemed to like the President's speech, from the portion I heard him discussing it.
