A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001
So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!
And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

I'm Proud To Be A Freeper Because......
I get to meet people like this: mtngrl@vrwc, JustAmy, Mama_Bear, and Senorita, a few of the FResno FReepers who give their time every Friday night to gather in support of our troops. I want to thank you and all of the other FResno FReepers for your dedication. (Oh, and contrary to what you might hear from ST.LOUIE1, it really isn't true they only attend the rallies for the cookies!) :)
Be sure and read about the Tailgate Party and Rally coming up next month. Call and make your reservations to attend. Click on the photo below for more information.

;-) Properly prepped goat is fine. Like any grass eating, native creature it does NOT have the taste of corn fed beef. But it's great when done by an experienced goat chef.
Thanks for the FFF thread. You did good. As always.

We had spent so much time looking and at some points we wondered if we would ever find them, said Chet. When we did, there was a sense of great satisfaction. Seeing these kinds of posts here also gives me great satisfaction!
Hi, 'xcuse! Thanks for coming - please come back again and again!

The Seven Dwars and the Pope
The 7 dwarfs go to the Vatican, and because they are THE dwarfs, they are ushered in to see the Pope.
Dopey leads the pack. "Son," says the Pope, "What can I do for you?"
Dopey replies, "Excuse me, your Excellency, but are there any dwarf nuns in Rome?"
The Pope wrinkles his brow at the odd question, thinks for a moment and answers, "No, Dopey, there are no dwarf nuns in Rome."
In the background, a few of the dwarfs start giggling. Dopey turns around and gives them a glare, silencing them. Dopey turns back, "Your Worship, are there any dwarf nuns in all of Europe?"
The Pope, puzzled now, again thinks for a moment and then answers, "No, Dopey, there are no dwarf nuns in Europe."
This time, all the other dwarfs burst into laughter. Once again, Dopey turns around and silences them with an angry glare.
Dopey turns back to the Pope and says, "Mr. Pope, are there ANY dwarf nuns anywhere in the world?"
"I'm sorry, my son, there are no dwarf nuns anywhere in the world."
The other dwarfs collapse into a heap, rolling and laughing, pounding the floor, tears rolling down their cheeks as they begin chanting...
"Dopey screwed a penguin!
Dopey screwed a penguin!"

Your family pictures are just great. We don't often see pictures of WWI vets. Look forward to Billie putting them in her next collage.
And wouldn't it be fun to see your relatives who fought in the Civil War.....

Bille - the poster that said you are getting to be as good as Registered is wrong. I think you are BETTER!
AF_Blue - Ping! And how about a photo of you in your uniform for this thread!???

Why Thanks!!! Billie, to see my pix there was much appreciated and a wonderful surprise. I promised Snow Bunny to get my set of pix from my mil-spec years to her for inclusion in FReeper Friday, but unfortunately, I lost my father last Thursday 6/20/2002 at 1035. I consider myself very fortunate to be able to have held his hand during his final moments on this world, before our Lord called him home. I will also post a message to all the wonderrful FReepers who in usual FR fashion, offered their prayers for his recovery.
It is my belief that Our Lord has two kinds of healing, the first in which He removes the illness from the person, and the second, in which He chooses to bring the soul of the afflicted person to him, in order to prevent further suffering. All the prayers worked mightily indeed, as Our Lord called my father home that day.
It is also my belief that we now have another wonderful gentleman fighting for our cause of conservatism and a return to a Strict Constitutional goverment on a higher level than we can achieve here.
Thanks, Billie, for posting this "Freepers Finest" thread again.
Thanks, and God Bless those who are Keeping the Faith for Freedom.

I am so proud of the photo of my Grandfather's brother. When my aunt asked if I wanted a copy, I did not hesitate.
Billie: These ancestors were born and raised in Jack County, Texas. Small town (no longer there)called Vineyard. Have you ever heard of it? I finally got to visit Jack County a few years ago. It was wonderful meeting relatives that had only been names mentioned by my father.
